Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Lowen.
Hi Steven, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I earned my insurance license in November 2017 and began my career with Bankers Life/Colonial Penn as a captive agent, where I could only offer their products. I quickly realized that Medicare isn’t a one-size-fits-all situation, and being limited to a single carrier didn’t allow me to serve clients the way I wanted to.
So I transitioned to becoming an independent agent and became appointed with all the major carriers. Now, when I meet with clients, I can present every option available and help them choose the plan that truly fits their needs.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always challenges when you’re building a new career, and I definitely faced my share. Even now, about once or twice a month, a client will ask a question I don’t immediately know the answer to. But those moments have actually helped me grow — tracking down accurate information has made me a more well-rounded and resourceful agent.
I understand that unique situations will always come up in this field, and I’m committed to going the extra mile whenever they do. I see those challenges as opportunities to learn and to provide even better service for my clients
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My role is to fact-find with my clients, gather as much information as possible, and help them make informed decisions when choosing a Medicare plan. Choosing the wrong plan can have serious consequences later on, so it’s important that they fully understand their options. My job is to present all the strong, suitable choices available and then guide them through selecting the plan that best fits their needs.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory isn’t a single moment — it’s growing up with an older sister and two parents who loved us and worked hard to provide for us. The time we spent together, learning, growing, and supporting each other, really shaped who I am today
