Today we’d like to introduce you to Naomi Pareja.
Hi Naomi, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into healing began long before I ever called it a career. I grew up watching my grandmother work with herbs and healing touch — she taught me that tending to the body and spirit with intention was sacred. That early connection planted seeds I wouldn’t fully understand until much later in life.
Over the past 20 years, my own personal healing journey became the catalyst for everything I now offer. I’ve walked through trauma, reinvention, and deep transformation — and every step has brought me closer to my soul-aligned purpose: to be a spiritual guide, teacher, and embodiment of what it means to return to the truth of who we are.
The turning point came in 2019 when I lost my first business. That collapse led me back to my hometown and became the fertile ground for what would eventually evolve into The Joyful Shaman — a healing practice that reflects not just what I do, but who I am.
The Joyful Shaman is a sacred space for those ready to step into the spiral path of healing — not alone, and not dependent on anyone to “fix” them — but supported through deep, transformational work. Through retreats, energy healing, sound therapy, and sacred ceremony, I help others release old identities, unlearn limiting stories, and remember their inner magic.
This work isn’t about perfection — it’s about presence. It’s about walking with others as they reclaim their wholeness, and being a mirror for the divine within them.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The path has been anything but smooth — and in many ways, that’s what makes it sacred.
Like many healers, I didn’t arrive at this work because life was easy. I’ve walked through deep grief, financial hardship, betrayal, burnout, body image battles, and the kind of self-doubt that doesn’t just whisper — it roars. I lost my first business in 2019, and at the time, it felt like everything I had built had crumbled. But that collapse became a catalyst. It brought me back to my roots — literally and spiritually — and helped me rebuild my life and my practice from a more authentic foundation.
There have been seasons of loneliness, of starting over, of being misunderstood — especially as a spiritual woman of color carving her own path in a world that often expects you to play small or stay silent. I’ve had to learn how to trust myself more than I trust the systems around me. I’ve had to get radically honest about what I’m here to do, and let go of everything that doesn’t align.
But every challenge has shaped me. Every detour, delay, and breakdown has deepened my devotion to this work. I wouldn’t be The Joyful Shaman without the sorrow, the surrender, and the strength it took to rise again — not once, but many times.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in creating sacred, transformative experiences for people who are ready to reclaim their power, reconnect to their body, and remember who they really are.
Through private healing sessions, immersive retreats, breathwork, sound therapy, and ceremony, I help individuals move through energetic blockages, release old patterns, and come back into alignment with their truth. My work weaves together modalities from Shamanic Reiki and vibrational sound healing to ancestral wisdom, ritual, and earth-based practices. But ultimately, I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all healing. Each session or retreat is intuitively guided and deeply personal.
What I’m most proud of is the safe space I create for others — spaces where people don’t have to perform, explain, or earn their healing. They can simply arrive as they are and be met with compassion, clarity, and truth.
What sets me apart isn’t just my training or how long I’ve been doing this work — it’s the way I live this path. I’ve walked through my own shadows, sat with my own grief, and returned to my own body many times. That lived experience shapes how I hold space — not as a guru or fixer, but as a guide who walks beside you with humility and reverence.
At the heart of everything I offer is this belief: healing is sacred, but it can also be joyful. You are not broken. You are becoming. And I’m here to walk with you as you remember your way back home.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
The best way to connect is to reach out from the heart. Whether you’re feeling called to attend a retreat, book a healing session, or collaborate on something sacred — I welcome conversations that are soul-led, not sales-driven.
I offer in-person sessions, ceremonies, and events in Florida and around the U.S., and I also travel to facilitate retreats and sacred experiences in places like Mount Shasta, Glastonbury, Taos, and Isla Mujeres. My one-on-one work includes energy healing, Shamanic Reiki, sound therapy, and breathwork — all offered with a trauma-informed, spirit-led approach.
If you’re curious, visit my website at www.joyfulshaman.com or find me on Instagram @joyfulshaman. I love collaborating with aligned souls — artists, healers, space holders, visionaries — especially those who value presence, ceremony, and deep transformation.
And if my work has ever touched you or inspired you, the most beautiful way to support me is to share it with someone who might need it. Healing ripples. We’re all connected.
