Daily Inspiration: Meet Lucia Montero

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucia Montero.

Hi Lucia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Established in 2003, Galmont Ballet is a Ballet school dedicated to providing professional Training to Children 5 years old and up. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to help each student reach their full potential. The school also provides Performance opportunities and is the official resident ballet company of the beautiful Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse since 2008. We strive to provide our students with a comprehensive and enriching learning experience, helping them grow as artists and individuals, under the leadership of international ballet master and choreographer Frank Galvez, and international ballet mistress and coach Lucia Montero.
The youth company produces various shows throughout the year, including classical ballets and Frank Galvez’s original contemporary works. Its production of The Nutcracker has been a staple in Brevard County since 2004.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Establishing our ballet school has involved struggles with financial instability, securing funding, and market saturation. Challenges such as finding an appropriate facility that meets safety and accessibility needs, developing a comprehensive and effective curriculum, and handling the administrative burden of marketing and management. We have successfully addressed these obstacles with carefull and strategic planning, proactive approach and willingness to adapt along the way.
