Daily Inspiration: Meet Isabelle Boba

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabelle Boba.

Hi Isabelle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Isabelle Boba, Founder & CEO, LUX Design

My journey into design started long before I ever knew it would become a career. I’ve always been drawn to how spaces make people feel — the emotion behind good design. When I first began, I didn’t have a large team or a showroom. It was just me, a laptop, and a deep belief that design could change how people live and connect with their environment.

I founded LUX Design over 15 years ago in Toronto with a simple but powerful idea: to create interiors that are as functional as they are beautiful — spaces that truly reflect the people who live in them. What started as a one-woman operation has grown into a full-service interior design and build firm with talented designers, project managers, and tradespeople working collaboratively under one roof.

From the beginning, integrity and client satisfaction have been the foundation of everything we do. I built the business one client at a time, often through word of mouth, focusing on listening deeply, solving problems creatively, and making the renovation process as seamless as possible. Over the years, that dedication led to hundreds of projects across Canada and now the U.S., from luxury condos and custom homes to commercial spaces and multi-unit developments.

My own design philosophy has evolved too. I believe every home tells a story — and great design should capture the soul of its owner. That’s why every project we take on is personal. I still love being involved in the creative direction and mentoring our team as we continue expanding into new markets like Sarasota, Florida.

Looking back, it’s been a journey of passion, persistence, and purpose — transforming from sketches on my kitchen table to a company that now helps others realize their vision of home. I feel incredibly grateful for every client who’s trusted us along the way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
VoyageTampa “Obstacles & Challenges”

Definitely not a smooth road — and honestly, I don’t think it ever is when you’re building something from the ground up.

In the early days of LUX Design, I wore every hat imaginable. I was the designer, the project manager, the bookkeeper — and I learned quickly that success in this industry takes grit, patience, and an ability to adapt fast when things don’t go as planned.

Like most entrepreneurs, I learned through experience. I made mistakes, but I also became stronger and more resilient because of them. One of the biggest lessons for me was learning to trust my instincts and build the right team. When you find people who share your values — integrity, creativity, and care for clients — everything starts to fall into place.

Another challenge was expanding into a new country. Moving from Toronto to Sarasota meant essentially starting over — new networks, new suppliers, new regulations, even different expectations of design. It was humbling, but it also reignited my entrepreneurial spirit. I had to rebuild the business in a new environment while keeping our standards and identity intact.

Looking back, every obstacle has shaped who I am as a leader. The tough days taught me persistence and the importance of staying grounded in your “why.” For me, that “why” has always been helping people create spaces that genuinely improve their quality of life — and that keeps me going no matter how bumpy the road gets.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Our Work

At LUX Design, we specialize in full-service interior design and renovation management — from concept to completion. Our work spans both Canada and Florida, with projects in Toronto, Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch, St. Petersburg, and Tampa. Whether it’s transforming a historic home, designing a modern coastal residence, or creating a commercial environment that feels refined and welcoming, every space we design reflects the personality, lifestyle, and aspirations of the people who live or work in it.

We’re known for creating interiors that feel sophisticated yet comfortable, balancing timeless aesthetics with livable function. Every project begins with a deep understanding of our clients — how they move through their day, what makes them feel at home, and what inspires them. From there, we curate materials, textures, and details that tell their story with elegance and authenticity.

What sets us apart is our turnkey approach. We manage every aspect of the process — design, permits, trades, furnishings, and styling — ensuring precision, communication, and peace of mind from start to finish. Our clients trust us not only to design beautiful spaces but to deliver them seamlessly.

I’m most proud of the relationships we’ve built. Many of our projects come from repeat clients and referrals — families who return to us as their lives evolve. That trust is the greatest compliment and a reflection of our team’s commitment to excellence, transparency, and genuine care for every project we take on.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Final Thoughts

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that success is rarely about speed — it’s about consistency, integrity, and staying true to your purpose even when the road gets tough. I’ve built LUX Design on the belief that when you lead with honesty, creativity, and care, good things follow — both in business and in life.

Design, to me, is never just about beautiful spaces; it’s about connection, emotion, and creating environments that make people feel at home in their own lives. I feel incredibly grateful for every client who has trusted us to bring that vision to life — in Canada, Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch, St. Petersburg, and Tampa.
