Daily Inspiration: Meet Eva Amoroso

I’d like to introduce you to Eva Amoroso.

Eva, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I use to go for Tarot card readings every three to six months.   My mother had died the day my son was born, so I had no one to guide me.  Getting a Tarot card reading was how I learned to figure things out for myself. I had stopped in for a reading because I was 9 months pregnant with my second child and I was told there were complications.  It was at this crucial reading that my reader stated, that I kept pulling the psychic card and she wanted to add me to her next Tarot class.  I was confused and overwhelmed because I was about to give birth, working two jobs and holding together a failing marriage. I wrote down my information for her, I don’t know why, but I did. Fast forward a year and a half later, I was living in an apartment with two kids under the age of 5, divorced, my beautiful home sold and I had no help from anyone. It was then the call came, that my reader, Linda, was starting a Tarot class, did I want to join the class? My Life had exploded in all directions and being a spiritual being, I thought, maybe I can get some answers through this class. The class was incredibly easy for me. The minute I touched the cards, I could see the person’s story in them. After that Tarot class, I studied Astrology, Afro-Caribbean religion, Reiki and Mediumship. No matter what I studied in the Spiritual Arts, I always returned to Tarot which is my niche.

Looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There is no such thing as a smooth road, especially for light workers. It is through our challenges and our failures that we learn the most about ourselves. I think one of the reasons I am considered a good reader is my straight forward delivery as well as I have experienced many of Life’s challenges. This does not include the thousands of stories I have heard at my Tarot table.

The three main topics that I speak about most are, House Clearing, Clearing One’s Energy and How to Connect with Loved Ones that have Crossed Over.  I created YouTube videos so people can refer to them anytime on my website, ReadingsByEva.com. I also Blog about topics I think the everyday person should know about the Spiritual Arts. I feel that every person should know certain Metaphysical information whether they believe in what I do or not. You should know a little Astrology.  You should know your Sun, Moon and Rising signs, as well as know some information about Mercury Retrograde, Saturn Return, and what to expect during a New and Full Moon. Everyone should know simple ways to keep the energy in your home positive as well as how to protect your energy when you are out in the world.  And of course, you should know how to connect with your loved ones who have passed, know the signs, so they can help guide you.  To know how to work with these energies instead of against them, is key to your Life running smoothly.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I consider myself a creative. I am a storyteller, healer and comedienne all rolled into one. My New York City style enables me to get to the point very quickly. Even when discussing certain energy techniques, it is always a simple and direct approach. I tailor my readings this way, so everyone can understand. There is no Woo-Woo here.  Besides that, Laughter is probably Number One on the list to help one heal.  Sometimes you just gotta laugh at what it is you are going through. There is much to be said about healing through telling a story. My own story has had many experiences with loss as well as success. Sometimes sharing my own experiences makes the client realize, they are not alone in a situation. I also have countless stories that I have heard at my Tarot table that I refer to, to let my clients know they are not alone and a positive outcome is ahead, just get through the storm.

I am a firm believer that we all have intuition and like exercise, you need to work your intuitive muscle regularly so that muscle can grow stronger.  Some people trust their intuition more than others, but we all have that 6th sense, it just comes to each person in different ways.  Some people get their information from dreams, Tarot, numbers, prayer or Astrology.  Whatever way calls to you, we all get signs that help guide us.  As a Tarot card reader, I try to not only guide my clients through the decisions before them, but I also try to encourage them to trust their own intuition.  This hobby, that turned into a business, is really my calling, to assist, guide and help others on their path. I am a firm believer if you help someone else, it will come back to you tenfold.  It is the best feeling in the world to know that a client listened to what I said and headed in the right direction. When you heal others, you heal yourself and the World.  Looking back on that fateful day when I wrote my information down for my reader, I did not think to become a Tarot card reader.  Today, I cannot picture a day where I do not have a deck of cards in my hands.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
My childhood was the training ground to become a reader. I came from a conservative, dysfunctional, Catholic family in Long Island where feelings were never discussed and we were pushed to succeed.  I was athletic and considered very funny.  I am the youngest of two and ended up a rebel by high school.  By the end of junior high, I went from president of the class, to completely ostracized entering high school.  My father taught at my high school, so socially things changed dramatically for me. I had my father for homeroom freshman year, first seat, first row. Why they couldn’t squeeze another desk in a different homeroom was mind boggling. The word “bullying” was not yet part of school conversations.  I hid in the hallways and then would go home to hear, “What happened to you? What are you doing with your life?’  A vicious circle with no end in sight. I did three years of high school and then left a year early for university.  I attended the same university in NYC that my older sister attended. She had taken a different road, doing exactly what my parent’s said. As time went on, she became my greatest adversary without me realizing it.

Once my mother died the day my son was born, that’s when the sharks really started to circle. In the end, I did not receive my inheritance and I decided to completely walk away from my former family.  This loss included not able to retrieve anything from my childhood home that was promptly sold. I came to the realization that in many ways, I was actually being set free. I mention this part because with every experience there is learning and alternatives.  I compare my family experience to, Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon, when the building behind him completely collapses and he is walking away unscathed.

I reinvented myself, my life and created a healthy environment for my children.  I was now, Eva Amoroso, Tarot card reader.  I kept my married name even though I was divorced. My name translates to, Eva Lovely.  Whatever I have, I have earned on my own. I continue to help others by sharing my story as well as the stories I hear at my Tarot table.  I always like to reassure my clients that yes, it can be done, you will get through the storm and no, you are not alone.  I am just a few blocks ahead of you.
