Today we’d like to introduce you to S.C. Principale.
Hi S.C., thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
After growing up with a lot of family tragedies and scary events, I started turning fear and loneliness into stories, and in each story, I tried to create a “Scary character” or a monster, but instead of being the badd guy, they were the misunderstood characters looking for friendship and love. My little stories where everyone finds friendship and love spawned a town, Pine Ridge, and lots of readers around the world, incnluding the incredible Tampa -area artist, Kit Fox.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh, it is still a struggle! Writing is a capricious field and you never know until aftera book is out if people will actually like what you’ve written. AI is also a threat to creatives. Generative AI can crank out books in minutes while it takes human authors months or years. Still, I will never trade away human writing, because I feel like that’s the best way to capture the soul and really connect with readers.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m most known for my cozy monster and paranormal romances set in a fictional town, Pine Ridge. People know it as a low-angst, feel good read that will have lovable characters and plenty of steam!
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Creativity, flexibility, and the ability to connect with people, to understand what really moves them and makes them happy.
