Hi Kandy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I have always had a passion for real estate! I was obsessed with the HGTV show “House Hunters” which inspired me to relocate my family from NY to Siesta Key. As fate would have it, the very show that inspired me came knocking, and 11 years ago, MY family was the first to feature Siesta Key on “House Hunters” giving the barrier island national and international recognition. After settling in to the FL Suncoast lifestyle and having worked for 20 years in the healthcare and wellness industry, with the last few years working as a successful life transitions counselor and residential sales agent in the highly competitive senior living sector, I made the decision to leave the professional therapist side of what I do behind and pursue a career in real estate full-time. Nothing brings me more joy and excitement than to now apply my diverse skill set and professional expertise in contract negotiations, sales, marketing, and life transitions to helping people relocate and achieve their real estate goals and dreams here on the FL Suncoast.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There is no such thing as a “smooth road” to success. If an agent tells you that it has been smooth and easy, I’m not sure that is who you would want representing you as a real estate agent. Real Estate transactions, especially in the luxury market, often come with unique obstacles and challenges. Experiencing and overcoming the hard things in life, both personally and professionally, is the “secret sauce” to why I am having such success as a real estate agent. I know how to navigate choppy waters in order to get my clients across the finish line with the least amount of stress and most amount of joy. I am grateful for every single one of my trials and tribulations in life and in work because it has made me well prepared to handle anything that comes my way.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Florida Licensed Real Estate Agent and owner of FL Suncoast Real Estate and Relocation Consulting partnered with Preferred Shore, an elite, boutique brokerage and real estate marketing company specializing in Florida’s coastal areas. I specialize in working with clients relocating to the area from another state or country. I provide a concierge level of service and become a valuable resource as I see myself as a partner on my clients’ journey to helping them find the home of their dreams and acclimate to the FL Suncoast lifestyle. My relationships and work as a local resource with my clients continues well after the home is purchased.
I earned a BA in Communications/Mass Media from Rutgers University and I also earned a Master’s degree in Psychology which sets me apart from your average Florida Realtor®. Ultimately, real estate is a people and relationship industry and that is an arena where I excel! My skillset, decades of professional experience, in addition to years of personal and professional domestic & international travel, allows for a more streamlined marketing, negotiation, sales, and closing experience for all parties involved in the transaction. Whether it is a residential, commercial, or investment deal, I do the heavy lifting and get my clients across the finish line helping to realize their real estate goals with the least amount of uncertainty and stress. I listen with expert, well-cultured ears and execute with experienced skills, unlike other traditional agents.
I am known for being an authentic and ethical person who puts the clients’ needs and goals first. I am most proud of how all of my past experience in sales and clinical work in healthcare, coupled with my personal passion for music and the arts has come together as a genuine, authentic force that ultimately benefits my clients and truly sets me apart from your average agent. I am also proud to be raising my twin daughters on the Florida Suncoast and exposing them to a unique and fulfilling lifestyle filled with sun and fun! I am extremely passionate about serving the people of my community and church and enjoy being part of the worship team at Bayside Community Church – Fruitville Campus.
What’s next?
My plans for the future include building my real estate investment portfolio in order to build generational wealth for my daughters. As a first-generation Panamanian American, my goal is to continue the legacy my parents started when they relocated to the United States in search of the “American Dream”.
I’m in the process of expanding my work as a real estate professional to the east coast of Florida as well. There is nothing like the coastal lifestyle and I feel so fortunate to be a part of facilitating the transition to our beautiful Sunshine State.
I plan to travel more as well. I want my daughters to experience many different cultures and parts of the world first-hand. It is something that has been an asset to me both personally and professionally so I want them to have the same advantage. Next on my bucket list… Israel & Bali.
