Today we’d like to introduce you to Dino Roman.
Hi Dino, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am a Filipino immigrant who moved to America back in 2010. I work full-time as a Store Manager for one of Florida’s largest wine and spirits retailers.
I have always been a passionate gamer growing up but I never had the means or have had the opportunities to be able to enjoy this passion because gaming was so expensive in the Philippines where I am from. I also loved action figures but again I was in no position to afford them growing up so I made it my goal to work hard so that one day I can support my passion.
Two years ago, I found Tiktok and started sharing this passion, creating content that shows the struggles of a normal person trying to find the time to enjoy his passions while juggling work and life responsibilities.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It was a difficult journey.
When my family decided to take a chance and move to America we had to leave everything behind in the Philippines. It came with all the challenges of moving to a foreign country. I had to learn how to quickly adapt to the culture while also staying competitive.
I spent years being homesick, missed family gatherings, special occasions, and many more. to this day I still see the rest of my family on social media and miss them every day.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a full-time Store Manager during the day and a Gaming content creator at night.
I started making Tiktoks 2 years ago, the channel mainly revolved around my daily activities and struggles as a person with a full-time job trying to balance and find the time to enjoy gaming and other activities.
I consistently uploaded Tiktoks for months and no one was really watching but I was enjoying what I was doing so I kept doing it.
Eventually, people started finding my content and relating to it and over time the channel grew. About 8 months ago was when it really took off and I started working with many brands who want to promote on my Tiktok channel.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
I have many great childhood memories and they all revolve around gaming.
I remember watching my older brother play duck hunt on the original Nintendo and it really got me interested in video games but it wasn’t until My parents bought me and my brother a Playstation that things got really serious.
That moment was pure magic, my parents were not rich and for them to spend their hard-earned money was not an easy thing to do. I would spend the entire summer just staying at home and playing video games.
