Conversations with Danielle Madgy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Madgy.

Danielle Madgy

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started Franklin Paper Studio when I was looking for a creative outlet from a corporate planning job. I had some friends getting married, so decided to reach out and dip my toe into the industry. Shortly after, I fell in love with paper goods and decided I wanted to make a business out of it. Since starting the business, I have moved states, gained more clients and worked on some beautiful weddings. I feel very lucky to be a trusted vendor for my clients to produce paper goods that represent their wedding days but also feel personal to them!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I work with some amazing people! Not just clients, but also wedding planners and photographers who all make the process so seamless. When I started, this industry was completely new to me. I had to figure out how to manage a workflow, find the right printers to partner with, and find ways to have potential clients discover my work. It has been such a learning process and I learn something new every single week, but I wouldn’t change a thing!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I call myself a “professional stationer” which can mean many things. My main gig is wedding stationery – so everything from invitation suites, to bar menus, and even place cards. I love working with couples to create paper that represents both them and their special day. I have also been fortunate to work with event planners helping them with design work for birthday parties, corporate functions, and more.

I am genuinely so proud of each and every piece of work I get lucky enough to work on. I think what sets me apart from other stationers, is my attention to detail and the fact that I am always reachable. As a September 2024 bride, I understand the stress wedding planning can have, so I try to make my process easy and stress-free for all of my clients. I want them to enjoy their experience working with me and take one thing off of their plates!

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Patience and understanding is key! Not everyone is hooked to their emails and can answer quickly. Not everyone knows what they want. All of that is more than ok! Patience is so important when it comes to working in the wedding industry. A lot of clients are managing so many different aspects of wedding planning along with their full-time jobs. Understanding this will make your job as a stationer so much easier.
