Hi Serena & Chris, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The Salon of B.S.B was started by a young couple that decided that the beauty industry was their passion. Chris Williams wanted to step out of his comfort zone and go into an industry that he knew people were going to judge him for. He always had a passion for starting a business in the beauty industry, but Chris didn’t know what specifically he wanted to do in the beauty world. Chris then decided that he wanted to provide cosmetics such as makeup, skincare, and more, but he came up with another idea to start off this brand. Chris saw that his girlfriend Serena Lindquist had a passion for doing her own makeup and practicing every day on perfecting her craft. Serena never thought she was ready to do the client’s makeup, but Chris saw her gifts. One day he decided to get all the necessities to start a makeup salon and approach Serena with the opportunity to start taking on clients and doing their makeup. Even though Serena being afraid to step out of her comfort zone, Chris was able to give her that extra push she needed, and now they are a dynamic team traveling to different states to do client’s makeup and bring out the beauty in people. Once her talents and creativity were exposed, more opportunities started to flow in. Their future plans are to open a cosmetic glam store/salon. Their goal is to be able to provide the highest quality of cosmetics and services with ingenuity, creativity, and imagination that people walk in one way and come out transformed when finished. This couple believes in having an experience that provides the WOW factor.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I would say our biggest challenge at first was trying to figure out a marketing strategy to get clients in. With Serena being new to the Tampa area, we didn’t have many connections. But once we started attracting attention, everything started to fall in place. Now we are just coming up with better ways to promote our services.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in creativity. The reason why I say creativity is because I am a fast learner when it comes to creativity or beautifying people or things. I am known for my creativeness and my customer service. I feel like overall, providing good customer service allows people to see my talent and how dedicated I am to flourish in my business. I am currently mastering the art of lash extensions and nails. I am most proud of the confidence and the support I’ve to gain toward my business and towards my clients. What sets me apart from other beauty businesses is that I provide a learning experience with my customer, and I make them feel welcomed. I love to uplift my clients while providing them my services.
