Sean, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It all started with my parents’ radio system in the living room. I’ve always had an interest in music because of the wide variety and accessibility that was provided to me. I was the kid that always would change the radio station to the best station once I entered anyone’s car. Music has always been in my life and plays a huge part of how I live life. Music is therapeutic, stress-relieving, motivating, calming and so much more to me. My musical background includes concert and marching band tenure as well. The sounds, vibrations, melodies, and rhythms all play a part in the life force we have inside of us. As time went on, I cultivated the skill of music orchestration through electronic devices, i.e. iPod playlist, burned CDs, social media music players, and DJ equipment. The feeling of creating musical vibes is like no other. The reason why is that it requires the most simple thing everyone has. Which is a listening ear and an able body to move and groove to the music.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road is what you make it and it’s all about perspective. So, to me, the road is the road lol. On the journey, I’ve been moving along at my own pace from throwing parties as a teenager, to DJ’n a handful of parties at the college I attended all the way to the current moment of being a resident DJ at 7th & Grove. Creating the road that I’m traveling on has put me in a great position of co-owning an entertainment company with my wife. Just Us Productions has put me in a position to branch out to more markets and provide amazing experiences. The only struggles that come into now is being in a new area where the people don’t know who I am yet to book me. The challenge of strengthening my marketing so that it will reach more people is a common struggle you could say. Getting people in front of or my mixes heard from restaurant owners, nightclub owners, event planners, etc. is the current situation I’m working through.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Yes. Be yourself. Always and Forever…
The pandemic gave us so much time to ourselves to revamp, recreate and relearn who we are. I took that time and put myself out to the world on video and streaming platforms. You never know what you’re capable of until you do what you thought you couldn’t do. Get up and be great every day and eventually, you will find out what you’re great at. Always stay on the side of change because when the world changes you can adapt and thrive with the new wave that comes from change. Being in the front of things puts you in way better situations for living and experiencing life. You never know what could be the thing that changes your life permanently. But you must have an open mind for growth to allow it to enter into your space. Biggest lesson was love yourself and give yourself opportunities to thrive as your truest form on this earth.
