Today we’d like to introduce you to Randy Bioski.
Hi Randy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been in the auto body and paint industry for over 20 years, but my story really started long before that. Growing up, I was always drawn to cars, how they looked, how they ran, and especially the satisfaction of taking something damaged and making it whole again. That passion led me into the trade as a young man, where I started out sanding panels, prepping cars, and learning the ropes from seasoned technicians.
Over the years, I worked my way up first as a body tech, then as a painter. I spent countless hours in the booth perfecting my craft, and I took a lot of pride in the details: the finish, the color match, the kind of work that makes a customer feel like their car is brand new again. Along the way, I built strong relationships with customers, insurance partners, and coworkers, and I realized that what I loved most wasn’t just fixing cars it was helping people through what can be a stressful time after an accident.
After two decades in the industry, I knew I wanted to take the next step. In February of this year, with the support and encouragement of my wife, I had the opportunity to purchase Charlotte Harbor Collision & Paint. Taking on ownership was a big leap, but having her by my side made all the difference. She’s been one of my biggest cheerleaders, and a partner in making this dream a reality
Owning the shop with my wife has been both challenging and rewarding. I’m still very hands-on in the work, but I also get to lead a team, set the standard for quality, and build a business that reflects my values: honesty, craftsmanship, and treating every customer like family. Looking back, it’s been a long road, but every step prepared me for this. And looking ahead, I’m excited to keep growing Charlotte Harbor Collision & Paint into a place people know they can trust.”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a first-time business owner has definitely come with its share of struggles. For over 20 years, I was focused on the craft doing the body work, painting, and making sure every car left the shop looking its best. Stepping into ownership this February meant learning a whole new side of the business. Suddenly, I wasn’t just responsible for the work in the booth I was responsible for payroll, insurance negotiations, vendor relationships, and making sure the whole operation ran smoothly. It’s been a big learning curve, and there are days where it feels like I’m wearing ten different hats at once.
On top of that, running a shop here in Charlotte Harbor means navigating the snowbird season. When the winter months hit and our seasonal residents come down, the workload can spike overnight. We’ll see a big increase in fender benders, insurance claims, and just the general demand for collision repair. Balancing that surge while keeping turnaround times reasonable has been a challenge, especially as a new owner still fine-tuning systems and processes.
But honestly, those challenges have pushed me to grow. I’ve learned to lean on my team, to stay organized, and to keep communication clear with customers so they always know what to expect. And with the support of my wife, I’ve been able to stay grounded and focused on the bigger picture. It hasn’t been a smooth road, but every struggle has made me a stronger business owner and given me a deeper appreciation for the community we serve.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At Charlotte Harbor Collision & Paint, we’re more than just a body shop we’re a place people can count on when they need help the most. We specialize in collision repair, auto body work, Classic vehicle restorations and vehicle paint, and with over 20 years of hands-on experience, I take a lot of pride in making sure every vehicle that leaves our shop looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.
What we’re known for is our attention to detail and our commitment to treating every customer like family. An accident can be stressful, and our goal is to take that stress off your shoulders. From working directly with insurance companies to keeping customers updated throughout the repair process, we make sure people feel taken care of every step of the way.
What sets us apart is the combination of craftsmanship and care and customer service. We don’t cut corners we focus on doing the job right the first time, whether it’s a small dent repair or a full collision rebuild. And because I’ve spent decades in the booth as a painter, I’m especially proud of our paint work. Matching color and finish perfectly is an art, and it’s something our customers consistently compliment us on.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the reputation we’re building here in Charlotte Harbor. Our name is becoming synonymous with honesty, quality, and reliability. We want people to know that when they bring their car to us, they’re not just getting a repair they’re getting peace of mind.
At the end of the day, our business is about people as much as it is about cars. We’re here to restore vehicles, but also to restore confidence. That’s what Charlotte Harbor Collision & Paint stands for, and that’s what I want readers to know about us.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Most people who know me through Charlotte Harbor Collision & Paint see me as the collision guy the painter, the technician, the business owner. What might surprise them is that there’s a lot more to me outside the shop. For one, I’m an avid golfer. Golf has become a real passion of mine because it gives me the same mix of focus, patience, and discipline that I bring to my work. It’s a way to clear my head, recharge, and challenge myself in a completely different setting.
Another thing people might not realize is how much I enjoy restoring classic vehicles. Projects like that remind me why I fell in love with this trade in the first place it’s not just about fixing cars, it’s about craftsmanship, creativity, and taking pride in the details.
And maybe the biggest surprise is how much of this journey has been a team effort with my wife. From the outside, people see me running the shop, but she’s been a huge part of the transition into ownership supporting me, helping with the business side, and keeping me grounded when things get hectic.
So while most people know me for collision repair and paint, what they might not know is that I’m just as passionate about golf, classic restorations, and building this business with my family. Those are the things that fuel me and, in a lot of ways, shape the brand we’re building here.”
