Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadiya Webb.
Hi Nadiya, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was a Veterinary Technician for 17 years and was looking to change careers. My mother has had her own business being a professional organizer for 20+ years, and encouraged me to start my own business. She really felt that working for yourself and providing a need in the community is always best.
I was really unsure how or what that business would be. My initial interest was in real-estate since I had experience with buying/ selling homes and properties. I had my general notary license already and was looking to expand on that. I did training as a loan signing agent so that I was able to assist with closings.
When it comes to selling/buying homes it can be a fun, but stressful process. I wanted to alleviate that stress by being mobile and going to where my clients are instead of them having to drop what they are doing to go drive and sit at an office to sign papers.
I am very thankful for my family and mostly my husband Sean for his continued support to help me become more and more successful in this journey.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been smooth, especially when starting. It takes a lot of time and marketing to gain clients. Most companies do not want to use people when they first start. They want someone well established. So in the beginning I had to do a lot for not very much just to get my experience in, as well as marketing myself by visiting lots of companies.
As you know, we’re big fans of Swift Ink Notary. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a mobile notary and loan signing agent. I have always prided myself on providing excellent customer service and exceptional organizational skills. Both of those attributes guided me into starting my own business where I get to utilize those skills to the fullest. My passion is customer service and organization. These two play a key role in my ability to service my clients.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Do it scared! You may feel like it ‘s to daunting, or you’re not ready. No one is ever fully ready, you just have to do it and have faith that you will succeed.
