Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Carroll.
Hi Lisa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been licensed since 1993. Upon graduating from University of South Florida with a degree in Special Education, I got my real estate license and have been a Realtor ever since! I worked at many different companies in the early years and even owned my own brokerage for about 5 years. I currently work at a boutique company comprised of great agents and am CEO and Team Leader for our team of 8 agents and 3 staff. Our team is called Team TLC (for Tim and Lisa Carroll) and both of my adult sons now work with me in the business as well. Our business is built on great service and our clients are the core of our business, offering us repeat business and referrals. As the business has changed over the years we have always stayed ahead of the curve in order to offer what our clients deserve: the best in the business to help you buy or sell real estate!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Real estate is a tough business! With a 87% failure rate and extremely low entry requirements, there are always thousands of new realtors entering the business and trying to make it. As a veteran agent, I now enjoy helping my team find the success I have found, mentoring them and teaching them what it takes to survive and thrive in a highly competitive business where you do not get paid unless you reach the closing table. I survived the market crash in the early 2000’s and that was one of the hardest times in the business. My husband was a mortgage broker at the time so both of us were in the same line of work. It became evident at that time that I would need to go back to work as a teacher for a few years to provide for our family of 4 (we had a baby and a toddler). I continued to work in real estate and teach for a few years and with the health insurance provided and small teacher salary we made it through. When I decided to leave teaching and come back into real estate full time, I was ready to crush it in a new and different way and I changed everything about the way I did business from that point on.
We’ve been impressed with Tim & Lisa Carroll, Team TLC – Mihara and Associates, Inc, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My husband and I formed Team TLC when I returned to the business full time in 2015. I came back to the business with a new vision and ever since then we have grown and helped 1000’s of families buy and sell real estate. I decided to hire staff and build a team in 2015. Our team grew in size at one point to 20, but now it is a smaller, more experienced and highly successful team of 8. Our team offers the best in service to buyers and sellers in the Tampa Bay area. With highly trained staff dedicated just to us and our clients and agents with many years of experience, the quality of service is exceptional. We pride ourselves on great communication and professionalism. With the many changes that have occurred in the industry it is very important for buyers and sellers to select their Realtor based on their track record and reviews. What makes you happy?
I love helping people achieve their real estate goals. stress free and with ease. Happiness is when an agent on my team reaches one of their goals and breaks through in ways they never thought possible, due to my help and mentoring. Working with my husband, two sons, and some of my best friends every day is pure happiness. On the personal side I find happiness when I am spending quality time with family and friends, visiting our north Georgia cabin in the mountains, creating art in my art studio, being outside in nature exercising, and eating and cooking amazing healthy foods. I am a very happy person and love the life I have built for myself. I feel gratitude every day for these things!
