Hi LaQuinta , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the beauty industry began with a love for brows and a personal struggle with excessive facial hair–what I later learned was hirsutism. I have done everything from tweezing and waxing to electrolysis. That experience not only fueled my own desire for confidence but sparked a passion to help other women facing the same issue. I enrolled in school for esthetics, where I discovered how powerful skincare can be. I learned that transforming skin could also transform how people feel about themselves–and that is what drives me every day.
Today, I am a licensed esthetician and business owner, offering customized skincare treatments that focus on building confidence, especially for women navigating issues like facial hair and aging skin. My goal is to create a space where every woman feels seen, cared for, and empowered in her skin.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting my business has not been a smooth road. There are highs, lows, and curves to get around—learning how to attract clients, manage everything on my own, and moments of doubt but I welcome every challenge. It has definitely taught me about resilience, boundaries and the importance of self-care—both for myself and for the women I serve.
We’ve been impressed with Quintessential Skin Care, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is rooted in care, confidence, and customized skincare. I specialize in treating multicultural skin, with a dedicated focus on skin of color and its unique needs. I offer a range of services, including anti-aging and corrective facials, gentle hair removal, eyebrow shaping, and personalized skincare regimens that deliver both results and relaxation.
While many of my clients are women—especially those navigating the changes that come with aging—I also proudly serve men who are looking to improve their skin health and confidence. Everyone deserves to feel good in their skin, and I’m committed to creating a safe, judgment-free space for all.
What sets me apart is my personal connection to the struggles some of my clients face. I don’t just treat skin—I understand the emotional weight certain conditions can carry, and I strive to provide care that is both compassionate and effective. I also take pride in educating my clients, so they not only see improvements but understand what their skin needs and why.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built. When clients tell me they see a transformation—that means everything to me. My mission is simple: to help people feel good in their skin, at every age and every stage.
Any big plans?
