Today we’d like to introduce you to Joanne.
Hi Joanne, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Haiti, which shaped my early understanding of compassion and resilience. From a young age, I felt a deep desire to help others, especially those facing struggles. As I grew older, that sense of purpose grew stronger.
As a teenager, I moved to the U.S. and continued my education, eventually earning a degree in Human Services and a master’s in Clinical Social Work. For years, I worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, supporting people through some of life’s toughest challenges.
Initially, I dreamed of starting a nonprofit to serve my community, but as I grew personally and professionally, I realized I wanted to do more than offer temporary relief—I wanted to empower lasting change.
This mission became deeply personal when my father fell ill. He was a hardworking man with big plans for the future, but those plans were cut short. Watching him put his dreams on hold was both heartbreaking and transformative. It reminded me that tomorrow is never promised, and we must choose to live purposefully today.
In 2021, I fully embraced the belief that everyone deserves a life of purpose and fulfillment. After much prayer and intentional growth, the vision for Live Purposely was born. I officially launched it in 2022, driven by my father’s legacy and a mission to help others live meaningful and fulfilling lives right now.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been easy. One of my biggest struggles was overcoming deep-seated fears shaped by my upbringing. Growing up in a culture that valued playing it safe, fear became my default, holding me back for a long time. I often stayed in my comfort zone, even when I knew I was meant for more.
Through personal development, healing, and faith, I began to push past those limitations. Taking intentional steps outside my comfort zone changed everything for me.
Grief has also been a significant part of my journey. Losing my father was incredibly painful. He had so many dreams, and his passing was a stark reminder that time waits for no one. That loss ignited a fire in me—to stop waiting, stop hesitating, and help others do the same.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Live Purposely is more than just a private practice—it’s a movement for purposeful living.
Everyone has the capacity to live a life full of purpose, fulfillment, and intention. Based in Florida, our private practice specializes in personal growth, mindset coaching, and mental wellness.
We offer therapy, coaching, workshops, and intentional support to help individuals uncover what they truly want, overcome obstacles that hold them back, and build lives that feel aligned and empowered. Whether someone is navigating a life transition, grieving, battling self-doubt, or feeling stuck, we walk beside them with intention, compassion, and strategy—tailoring each step to their unique journey.
What sets us apart is our faith-infused, heart-centered, holistic approach. We don’t just treat symptoms or focus on surface goals—we concentrate on who you’re becoming, not just what you’re doing.
We are known for creating safe, nurturing spaces where clients feel seen, supported, and inspired. Every session and service is intentionally crafted to help people reconnect with their purpose, gain clarity, and take meaningful, purpose-driven steps forward.
What I’m most proud of is the authenticity behind it all. This work is deeply personal to me. Live Purposely was born from my own journey, and everything we offer reflects that depth, heart, and intention. It’s not just about inspiration—it’s about activation. We equip people with the tools, mindset, and encouragement to take bold action and create lasting change.
What matters most to you? Why?
Purpose matters most to me—living it fully and helping others find theirs.
I believe every person has a unique calling, a reason for being here. Too many people simply exist, waiting for the “right time” to chase their dreams or step into their full potential. Life doesn’t always grant us the luxury of waiting.
My mission is to help people live intentionally—to uncover what they truly want, confront what’s holding them back, and start building the life they were created to live. That’s the heart of what Live Purposely stands for.
My work is deeply rooted in faith, inspired by my family, and carried on by my father’s legacy. He didn’t get to see all that Live Purposely has become, but he’s with me every step of the way. Helping others live a life of purpose is how I honor him, and it’s the calling I feel most passionately about.
Because life is short, and we were never meant to merely survive—we were made to Live Purposely.
