Hi Dwayne, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started out working a traditional 9–5, selling furniture, but deep down I knew I was called to something more—something with purpose. I’ve always had a heart to serve, to help people, and to give back to my community. Becoming an entrepreneur wasn’t just about working for myself; it was about stepping into a role where I could truly make a difference in people’s lives.
One day as I praying and asking God for direction. In my spirit I heard Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for I the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
That was all the confirmation I needed. I put in my two weeks notice and from that moment on, I never looked back.
Getting into the Health Insurance industry became my way of walking in that purpose. This work is more than a career—it’s my ministry! Every day, I get the opportunity to help my clients find peace of mind, empower them with the right coverage, and, most importantly, point people to Jesus. I am blessed to be able to serve, to lead, and to show up for my community in a way that truly matters.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Has it been a smooth road? Honestly—yes.
When I stepped into this industry, it just felt right. From day one, I had peace because I knew I was walking in my God-given purpose. Of course, I had to learn and grow, from being an employee to an entrepreneur but the transition wasn’t filled with struggle—it was filled with God’s grace.
Things began to align—opportunities opened up, the right people came into my life, and doors that I didn’t even knock on started opening. When you’re obedient to God’s call, He goes before you and makes the path clear. That’s exactly what happened for me!
