Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Tumolo.
Hi Christopher , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in New Port Richey since the age of 2. My mom was a school teacher and my dad was in the optical industry. I was exposed to optometry in my teen years and started working in the field at 19 years old. I went to school to get my opticians license and started working at opticals throughout the Tampa and New Port Richey area. I then went back to school to get my optometry degree. I started my company Beyond 2020 Vision Specialists 4 years ago and we have grown to 6 locations spanning from New Port Richey to Venice Florida.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was not a smooth road. A lot of hurdles, bumps and life situations along the way. Every step was difficult.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an eye doctor. I employ over 10 eye doctors and 15 technicians. I specialize in patients who have specific needs. We do a concierge style exam for patients who want the absolute best. We have the latest in technology including AI. We have patients come from all over the area, and as far as Orlando to get the best prescription glasses and contact lenses.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
AI is impacting us in a great deal. We have cutting edge AI developed lenses that maximize prescriptions. We also have AI now integrated into our diagnostic equipment.
