Chrissy Parsons’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We recently had the chance to connect with Chrissy Parsons and have shared our conversation below.

Chrissy, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, what’s been bringing me so much joy is being involved in my church alongside my children. We’ve been spending more time serving together and attending church services. Watching my kids grow in their faith and seeing how our time there brings us closer as a family has been incredibly fulfilling. It’s a beautiful reminder to slow down, be intentional, and find joy in the little moments—and that mindset carries into how I approach my work, too.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Chrissy, the face behind Chrissy Ann Photography. I’m based in sunny Florida and specialize in capturing weddings, engagements, maternity, and family sessions. My work is deeply rooted in my values of faith and family, and that’s what truly fuels my passion for photography.
I believe in the beauty of both the perfectly posed and the perfectly candid. While I’ll always guide you through those classic shots, some of my favorite moments are the in-between ones—the quiet glances, the belly laughs, the genuine emotion that happens when you’re just being yourself.

As a mom and someone actively involved in my church with my children, I know how fleeting time can feel. That’s why I approach every session with heart and intention—because these moments deserve to be remembered, and remembered beautifully. It’s such a joy and honor to serve families and couples through photography, and I’m so grateful for every story I get to be a part of.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I believe what often breaks the bonds between people is a lack of understanding, forgiveness, and presence. Life moves fast, emotions get messy, and it’s easy to drift apart when we stop seeing each other with compassion. But what truly restores those bonds is God’s grace—His ability to heal hearts, renew relationships, and remind us of the deep love we’re called to have for one another.

As a photographer, I see restoration in action all the time. It’s in the way a couple holds hands tighter during a session, or how a parent looks at their child with quiet pride. Those little moments are evidence of love being chosen again and again. Capturing that emotion, that connection—it’s more than a job to me. It’s a reflection of God’s work in our lives: restoring, redeeming, and reminding us what truly matters.

What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
After a hard season of burnout and feeling like I had to chase perfection in every session, I came to a breaking point. I had a shoot that didn’t go the way I envisioned—the lighting wasn’t ideal, the weather shifted last-minute, and I walked away feeling like I had failed. But when I delivered the gallery, the family was overjoyed. They saw love, connection, and emotion—everything I had been too focused on “fixing” to appreciate.

That moment changed my mindset. I stopped chasing perfection and started honoring the real. I realized that what matters most in photography—and in life—is showing up with heart, not flawless execution. Failing reminded me that I’m not doing this for the perfect shot; I’m doing it to tell honest, beautiful stories that reflect God’s grace and the beauty in everyday moments.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
In photography, trends come and go all the time—whether it’s editing styles, posing prompts, or social media aesthetics. I’ve learned to pause and ask: Does this trend align with my purpose, or is it just noise? Fads often feel flashy but fleeting, while foundational shifts are rooted in meaning, connection, and longevity.

For me, what never goes out of style is capturing genuine emotion—love, family, faith, and real moments that tell a story. I focus on what will still matter 10, 20, 50 years from now.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
I think what I would truly regret is not fully embracing the opportunity to live out my faith and values through both my family life and my business. As a mom and a photographer, I want to make sure I’m present—not just physically but wholeheartedly—in the moments that matter most. I’d regret if I let busyness or fear keep me from creating a legacy of love, faith, and authenticity.

In my business, that means not just chasing growth or trends, but building something rooted in purpose—serving families by capturing their real, beautiful stories with intention and heart. Ultimately, I want to look back knowing I chose faith over fear, family over perfection, and meaningful connections over convenience.
