Check Out Yasdene Torres’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yasdene Torres.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The 20 Buck Truck is our annual truck raffle dedicated to supporting the future of agriculture right here in Polk and Hardee County. Now in its 9th year, this community driven event continues its mission to give back to the kids in agriculture. Every ticket sold makes a difference, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to support the next generation of farmers and agricultural leaders. You can get your tickets at www.20bucktruck.com

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Every year brings new challengers and opportunities for the 20 Buck Truck, but one thing stays the same, our goal. Our main focus is spreading the word, because the more people take part, the more the kids in agriculture benefit.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What I love most about my job is the opportunity to experience the many moments that connect our community. It gives you a real appreciation for the effort that goes into agriculture. That’s what truly sets the 20 Buck Truck apart from the rest. Many don’t realize the hard work and commitment that goes into agriculture and this raffle helps shine a light on that.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see the 20 Buck Truck continuing to grow and expand over the next counties. I see people growing an appreciation for agriculture and see our state flourish once again.
