Check Out Sheila DeLeon’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheila DeLeon.

Hi Sheila, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was working in a restaurant in Lake Worth, Florida and the band my husband was in play there. I would sit in with the band and sing on occasion. He was their keyboard player. We fell in love and I quit my job of 5 years packed up and went on the road with the band!

We were on the road for a year and a half and decided to put roots down in Tampa (I’m from WPB). I was a makeup artist, but my fiancee wanted me to be in his band and also book his band… so I did.

We got married and had 3 kids and do music full time and always have! #blessed

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Having kids a son and 16 months later twins was a bit trying at times- booking gigs from our home office and also doing gigs was challenging! Learning new songs, keeping up with the repertoire requested, and working with clients is a challenge but I enjoy it.

The latest challenge was Covid-19- we didn’t work for a year and a half!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We specialize in weddings! Although we play Galas, corporate events, and Oktoberfests, we love weddings! We personalize the couple’s song list and let them put a personal stamp on their big day! We play a huge variety and love the love, haha!

What sets us apart from other bands is that we are a family band and we’ve been playing together for a long time, we are not a put-together band or agency! When you talk to us, you talk directly to the band!

We are proud of our reputation and there’s nothing like playing the first dance and witnessing the couple during that extremely personal time in their lives… so emotional!

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
We don’t take our word for granted. Losing a year and a half of work isn’t easy!
