Check Out Maylen’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maylen.

Hi Maylen, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my journey with very little—no big audience, no special resources—just a phone, and at 21, a big leap of faith. I moved to Miami alone—no mom, no boyfriend—just me, a cousin, and a big suitcase full of dreams. I started posting little by little and eventually joined a network marketing company called MONAT, creating fashion tips, beauty content, and relatable lifestyle posts.

Alongside that dream, my husband and I launched a healthy meal business serving Miami and Tampa. The business did well, but we wanted more—more freedom, more impact, more possibilities. That’s when I discovered digital marketing and the power of building a personal brand. I grew an Instagram account from 20,000 inactive followers to over 70,000 engaged ones.

In February 2024, we made a life-changing decision: my husband, our daughter, and I set out on a one-way journey that took us to over 26 countries across Asia, Europe, and even Africa. People started following us for the adventure, and during that year living in Europe, I not only created content and monetized my platforms, but I also founded Digital Income Academy Club (DIA Club)—where I teach others how to monetize online through affiliate marketing, UGC, personal branding, and more.

That period also allowed me to achieve deeply personal milestones, like bringing my mom and grandmother from Cuba to live a better life. Today, my business has grown internationally, helping thousands of people start from scratch, just like I did. My mission is to show that it’s possible to reinvent yourself, no matter your circumstances, and build a life you truly love

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. When you start putting yourself out there on social media, the first thing you face is criticism. You get hate from strangers, but what hurts most is that your own friends and family are often the first to doubt you, to make jokes about your dream. In the beginning, that can really shake your confidence.

Then, there were life events that pushed us to make big decisions. My husband and I had a healthy meal business in Miami and Tampa, and one night, while driving back from a delivery at 3 a.m., he had a car accident. The car was totaled. That moment was a turning point for me—I told him I didn’t want him risking his life like that anymore. We decided to go all in on the digital world, selling products online and building our personal brands.

Even when we were living our dream—traveling through Asia, Europe, and Africa—there were challenges. In this industry, it’s easy to compare yourself to others. You question why your account isn’t growing as fast, why you haven’t hit certain goals yet, or why brands don’t reach out even when you know you have so much to offer. You also deal with people copying your content without credit, algorithm changes that cut your reach overnight, burnout from constant posting, and the mental load of having to be “on” all the time.

But I’ve learned that these challenges are part of the journey. They build resilience, and they remind you that success in digital marketing is a long game—it’s about consistency, strategy, and staying true to your voice, even when no one believes in you yet.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a content creator, influencer, and digital entrepreneur, and the founder of Digital Income Academy Club (DIA Club)—an online academy that teaches people how to monetize using social media through affiliate marketing, UGC, personal branding, and digital products. My specialty is helping people start from zero, even if they have no audience, and turn their personal brand into a source of consistent income.

I’m known for my relatable, transparent approach. I share both the wins and the struggles so my audience sees the real process behind building an online business. I’ve worked with brands in the fashion, beauty, and lifestyle industries, but my biggest pride comes from seeing my students make their first online sale, quit a job they hate, or gain the confidence to show up online.

What sets me apart is that I’ve lived every step of what I teach. I went from working long hours with no days off to building a business that allows me to travel the world with my family—visiting over 26 countries—while also helping thousands of others do the same. I combine my experience as a content creator and influencer with solid marketing strategies so my students not only grow followers but also turn those followers into real income.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Not one in specific but being always with my family and having both of my parents still together
