Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Taylor.
Hi Kevin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m a brand design director and creative director with 27 years of experience in branding, advertising, and visual storytelling. A graduate of the Savannah College of Art & Design, I’ve worked on global and national brands including IBM, Publix, Southwest Airlines, Home Depot, and Baskin-Robbins—collaborating with teams to create work that’s emotionally grounded and visually distinct. My approach combines craft, clarity, and a deep respect for storytelling, shaped by a lifelong passion for comics, music, and bold visual culture. Today, I run my own studio, helping brands find their voice through innovative, impactful design.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Yes, it’s been a relatively smooth ride. I’ve hit some roadblocks, but like anything you’re passionate about, you just have to put your head down and persevere.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I build and refresh brands—everything from naming and identity systems to full campaigns. I specialize in crafting complex ideas into relatable, emotional stories that evoke genuine feelings. I’m known for balancing strategic thinking with strong visual craft, and for creating work that not only looks good but also moves effectively. What I’m most proud of is earning the trust of clients who let me push ideas further. What sets me apart is that I still think like an art director—I sweat the details, the type, the tone, and how it all connects.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I’ve definitely had my share of good luck, but the best of it has been my wife and family. They’ve always believed in my artistic talents, even when the path wasn’t clear. Their support has given me the freedom and confidence to take risks, build my own studio, and continue creating work that truly matters.
