Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Borga.
Hi Jessica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started MMA and boxing 11 years ago for self defense. I was raised in a very violent home and continued the cycle of those relationships until I decided enough was enough. I started to learn self defense but fell in love and it became my passion! What I was out here to do. I’ve been at the highest level of all of my sports, top 10 in the world for Bellator in the featherweight division after turning down UFC, black belt in Brazilian Jujitsu and now currently the World Champion at 145 for Bareknuckle Fighting Championship. With my platform I am able to give back and help those in need. Help I didn’t have. Share resources and hope for those in DV situations. I now have a non profit organization called Widows Web Incorp and raising money for the first and only MOBILE safe house in Polk county. Very passionate and excited about this cause and mission. I’m happily married and have three beautiful children.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve had adversity, more than most, along this journey. Multiple major surgeries and injuries that most would have quit with. My mental health due to all the trauma I’ve been through never made it easy but I’m a huge mental health advocate now as well and help others with that and physical fitness to help them achieve greatness. My main goal is to show the world that no matter what you came from or go through, if you don’t give up, you can achieve anything!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a professional MMA fighter and currently World champion at 145 for BKFC. I own my own businesses and non profit for DV survivors, Widows Web Incorp.
I also currently run all my own social media and mother to three amazing kids
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
My drive and unwavering ability to work through adversity and not back down. My work ethic, passion and heart go unmatched. My energy and love I bring.
