Check Out James Coley, Jr’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to James Coley, Jr.

Hi James, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My children are why I am where I am today. I have 5 kids, But I had 3 kids from a previous marriage that I had to raise on my own full-time. In this journey. I’ve experienced everything from the military, professional basketball (overseas), homelessness, WWE wrestler, and Deputy Sheriff but fitness coach is what I am extremely passionate about. I just always wanted to be someone that my kids could be proud of and a person that made a positive impact within society.

Currently, I’m back to Personal Training full-time and I am also a P.G at an Amazon Fulfilment center. I’ll probably transition to an Area Manager in the near future at the pace that going with the company.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s definitely been a challenging road. The toughest challenge was making sure my children were always ok. It took a lot of hours and sacrifices to build a steady clientele.

During the process, my top priority has always been my family. I didn’t want to lose my children to negative influences because they were raised in a single parent home. I never wanted my ambition to become successful to take precedence over being a present parent.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

Being a fitness coach. I am most proud of the fact that I’ve been able to bring out the best in people.

It’s one thing to create a physical transformation but I am more proud of the mindset transformations that I have seen since working with people. That boost of self-esteem rolls over into their day-to-day lives to a point where my clients are no longer intimidated by any new challenges that they may encounter in life

My role at Amazon has been just as rewarding. I was just going to go there for seasonal work but 2 months in. I was thrown into a leadership position. I work with such great leadership mentors at my center that numerous managers have been taking me under their wings and guide me into an Area Manager that I’ll more than likely step into in the near future.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Change… Covid has taught me that change can occur within a moment’s notice and you have to be willing to adjust and adapt. Failure to do so can make life an uphill battle.

Truly an amazing human being. Trained with him since 2019 right out escaping a horrible marriage. Training with him not only made me physically strong, but also mentally strong. Training with him will push you to limits you never knew you could reach and strengthen your endurance. I became my best self working with him. He genuinely cares about people and is a great example in our community. #TrustTheProcess
