Check Out Jake Jalbert’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jake Jalbert.

Jake, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I got started when I was a kid me and my brother Brian Jalbert would steal my dad’s small little camera and start making little short films in our back yard. The got into music after that for about eight years and when that ended, I bought my first real camera when I was 22 years old and just started filming everything I could to perfect my skills as a cinematographer and director. I did a couple of short films when a friend then me and Brian set out to shoot our first feature film called House Guest Massacre, starting Alex Vincent from the Chucky movies 1 & 2. Filmed that on $3,000 was an investment from a good friend Randell Speakman, an actor we met working on a short film before that. Since then, I have Produced 2 TV Shows, a TV Pilot and 2 Feature Films. The most recent project that I have Produced and Directed is called Mind Games, starring Michael Pare’, Robert LaSardo and Jet Jandreau and many other amazing actors. I teamed up with Brian Jalbert and Jadon Cal, who were also actors and Producers on the project as well as could not have done it without the team. Now will have to see where the future will lie.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It defiantly has been challenging, but I believe that is what builds character to keep going. Anyone will tell you the film business is one of the most difficult businesses to get into. You have to be ruthless. I won’t point out any particular one, but what I can say with anything, there seems to be challenged, but I do my best to focus on what I can do to better each situation and look at every struggle as a healthy way to grow with each step I take.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Film Director/Producer/DP and owner of Jalbert Brothers Studio. I am most proud of how much I have grown and the people I have met along the way and being able to do what I love every day.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I believe in doing right by people and finding ways to make things Win-Win by helping other people in their journey as well.
