Meet Ashlee Moss

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlee Moss.

Hi Ashlee, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Ashlee Moss and I’m 27 years old. I was born and raised in Tampa, FL.

I went to a community college for a couple years and realized it wasn’t for me. I think society should normalize not having to go to college to be successful.

I consider myself an extrovert and realized making connections has always been my niche. Majority of the jobs I’ve worked have been in the customer service field. I was involved in a networking business that taught me all I know about building connections and personal development. It also revealed to me how much I love inspiring and motivating others to reach their full potential.

I recently started a podcast called “A Taste of Melanin” with my friends Marcus Ramsay as the producer and Stephaney Cook as my co-host. When I was younger, I hated how dark my skin was because of the negative comments regarding dark skin tones. Over the years I have practiced self love. In doing so, I have fallen in love with my melanin skin! Our podcast will shine a light on black women and bring awareness to the everyday things we go through.

I would not be where I am today if it was not for my supportive family and friends. My network on social media has been a tremendous help as well.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been challenges along the way! I struggled with staying consistent and pushing through when the results are not there. I constantly remind myself that happiness is in the journey, not the destination. It’s hard not to compare myself to others when I see them succeed. I now realize timing is everything and comparison is a thief of all joy. Staying consistent regardless of the circumstances has kept me on the path to success.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I currently work in title insurance I have been with the company for four years. Over that time, I have learned the process of buying and selling a home. My passion is content creating. I love marketing for fashion and fitness brands. I enjoy going to new restaurants, rooftops, and hotels. Fitness is a big part of my life! Most days I work out at 5 am at my favorite gym, Apex Preformance.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I enjoy the daily stories and prayers on the Bible app. Instagram has allowed me to create another source of income. I love listening to Amanda Seales “Small Doses” podcast and reading The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz changed my life.
