Cess Scessions shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Cess, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Streaming is really what keeps me striving to push the envelope on my creativity and what I love the most. The dynamics is cool of what you can do digitally and also the amount of love shown is truly greater than even in the physical
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Absolutely—SIRVM.tech is the foundation, but what I’ve been doing lately is proof of concept for what that brand is becoming. From Sidetrackt Raidset 3, our evolving universe showcasing underground talent on Twitch through consecutive 1 hour sets, to BARBAR.IQ VERSES, our gamified freestyle battle arena with audience interaction, power-ups, and chaotic hazards—we’re building systems that merge creativity with strategy and technology.
I’m also soon to be world buildling and pushing boundaries back with Spatial by launching metaverse-based freestyle shows and cyphers, where community, performance, and tech converge in real-time. All of these projects are early builds in the SIRVM ecosystem—testing what immersive hip-hop culture can look like when you add interactivity, digital identity, and decentralized access. So while SIRVM.tech is still forming, everything I’m doing right now is a live prototype of that vision.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a kid, I believed I had to fall in line — to be what others expected, to stay in the box people put me in. I thought blending in was survival. But over time, I realized that constantly shaping myself for others was only dulling who I really was. Letting go of that pressure — by not caring what people think — became one of the most freeing things I’ve ever done. That release gave me the space to truly find myself, embrace my creativity, and build a path no one else could walk but me.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me that real growth doesn’t come from comfort — it comes from the moments when you’re forced to stop running and finally face yourself. I had to sit in discomfort, step away from everything that distracted me, and go deep within. That process showed me the difference between chasing a high and finding true fulfillment. Success might look shiny on the outside, but it was struggle that taught me how to be still, honest, and whole.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is the real me. I only know how to be myself, and that translates into every interaction I have. Everything I create or contribute comes from a genuine place — unless I’m unaware of something (which is rare, because I try to stay self-aware), it’s all an honest expression of who I am. There’s no character, no performance — just me, showing up as I am.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
What I think people might misunderstand about my legacy is that it was never about chasing fame or perfection — it was always about freedom. The freedom to express, to be raw, to share unfiltered experiences, mistakes, emotions, and all the chaos that comes with being human. People weren’t meant to just see the polished version — they were meant to witness the process, the struggle, and the growth. Because that’s what gives others permission to do the same. Even a flawed, meager version of yourself can impact the world. Hoarding your voice doesn’t help anyone — but showing up, as you are, just might.
