An Inspired Chat with Wini Wu of Tampa Bay

Wini Wu shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Wini, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
All 3 factors are important because they are all key factors to build and sustain a business. I’d say integrity is most important to me personally because integrity is vital for small, local businesses.

Small local businesses success depends so much on trust, reputation, and community relationships. Unlike large corporations that can rely on marketing budgets and brand recognition, small businesses thrive when people believe in the honesty and authenticity of the owners and their team.

At Jade Bridal, integrity is at the heart of everything we do. As a small, local bridal boutique in Tampa, we know our reputation is built not just on beautiful gowns, but on the trust and care we show every bride who walks through our doors.

Integrity means being transparent about our gowns, respectful of every bride’s budget, and committed to creating an honest, stress-free experience. It means listening with empathy, guiding with expertise, and always putting our brides’ needs first.

We believe that true luxury is more than exquisite fabrics and designer names — it’s the confidence of knowing you were treated with fairness, authenticity, and heart. By upholding integrity in every interaction, we create not just unforgettable bridal moments, but lasting relationships rooted in trust.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Wini Wu, the founder and owner of Jade Bridal. Established in 2014, Jade Bridal is a stylish bridal boutique serving Chicago area for 10 years. We moved our bridal boutique from Chicago to the sunny city Tampa Florida in June 2024. We focus on what matters and what fulfills each bride’s desire for their wedding attire. We assist brides not only in finding their dream wedding dress but also in guiding them to visualize and embrace their authentic beauty; beauty that is accentuated by finding the perfect dress. Choosing that wedding dress, confidently, for the celebration into the next life stage as a woman is what Jade Bridal strives for.

At Jade Bridal, we believe finding your dream gown should be exciting, not stressful. That’s why we offer private, stress-free bridal appointments designed to give every bride the time, care, and attention she deserves.

Our expert stylists will guide you through silhouettes, fabrics, and designer gowns — including favorites like Pronovias— while creating a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Whether you’re just beginning your search or ready to say “yes” to the dress, Jade Bridal ensures your experience is effortless, personalized, and truly unforgettable.

We believe in celebrating love by giving back. With every purchase you make, we’re proud to donate 5% of the sale to three incredible charities close to our hearts: UNICEF, supporting children in need worldwide; the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), protecting our planet’s future; and The Cancer Research Institute, advancing breakthroughs in cancer treatment.

Discover why brides call us one of the best bridal boutiques in Tampa for compassionate care, luxury gowns, and a meaningful shopping experience that gives back through our charity bridal shopping initiative.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
When I was a child, I didn’t think much about who I would become or what career path I would follow. As an Asian female, I believed I would live an ordinary life like my mother and most of the women around me — finish school, find a stable job, get married, and become a housewife. I never imagined that God had an entrepreneurial path designed for me.

Looking back, I’d say my beliefs as a child were limited. I never thought I would be capable of running a small business — let alone sustaining it for 11 years. We may struggle with self-confidence at times, but never underestimate what you can achieve when you push beyond your limiting beliefs

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
This is a very powerful question. I don’t believe we can ever truly hide from our pain. The most powerful part is finally facing it – embracing our vulnerable side, the parts of ourselves we’ve been avoiding.

When we avoid or hide our pain, eventually we hit a ceiling and become stuck. Without facing it, we cannot grow or move on to the next level. When we face our pain instead of hiding from it, we break through the ceiling that holds us back. Embracing our struggles allows us to grow and rise to the next level.

The power of pain isn’t in fighting it; it’s in accepting it and allowing yourself to heal. You’ll see a new version of yourself.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Respect. Respect yourself. Respect others.

The culture and value of respect seem to be fading in modern society. In today’s fast-paced world, the culture of respect and the lessons we learn from it often feel lost. Yet, honoring one another remains more important than ever. Modern culture may overlook respect, but it’s the foundation of every meaningful connection.

We don’t have to agree to show respect. We can honor others’ perspectives, beliefs, experiences, and feelings. Respect doesn’t require agreement. It means valuing others’ perspectives, beliefs, experiences, and feelings with an open heart.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
Simply as that I was a good person, and I add good values to their lives.
