We recently had the chance to connect with Tammy Danielson and have shared our conversation below.
Tammy, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
The most surprising thing that I have learned about my customers, is that when you think that you have them and their likes/needs figured out, they can come out of left field and surprise you with changing their minds. When someone is buying or selling a home, it is ever evolving and people change their minds quite frequently. You have to be able to what I call, drop back and punt, because if you are not evolving with your customers you are not providing the service that they deserve.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?

Let’s Team Up
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My Parents taught me the most about work. Both of my parents were working parents as I grew up. Neither had a college degree, but made it very clear that they expected my to obtain one. My mother did obtain her bachelors degree later in her career, but it was both of them showing me that if you want things in life, that you are responsible for making those wants a reality. They worked hard, but also made sure to be present as I grew and participated in sports, dance, theater, and very seldom were absent from any type of competition. Some would say that I was spoiled, growing up, and I did not want for anything, but I still went to work at my very first job on the evening of my 16th birthday and I am now getting closer to golden age where I can retire. However, my profession now, leads to the possibility of years beyond, so full retirement may not be as close as it could be.
When did you last change your mind about something important?
The last time I changed my mind about something important was when I decided to leave education after 25 years and change to a new profession. I loved working with children and was very good at my jobs over the years and had the full trust of many admisnistrators. My last year in education, was so stressful that I was losing hair, getting early greys, and generally was not excited about getting up and going to work. I loved the job, however, there were people that did not appreciate what I had offered for so many years with many acolades. My husband looked at me one morning and said, it is not worth your health. Once we had a serious discussion, I decided to change careers and go into a career that I had been looking into for many years as a possible side job. I can honestly, say that the importance of getting my health back and looking forward to my daily routine, was the best decision I could have made for myself.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
For myself, the cultural value that I regard in the highest, is treat others as you would want to be treated yourself. In my line of work, you meet all kinds of people. I don’t treat anyone any different than anyone else. If I am talking to you, then you are getting the true me. It does not matter to me if you have millions or no funds at all, I will give you the same service and committment. In the real estate world, people are at varying places in life, have certain economic levels but they all have one thing in common. They are looking for a place to call home. I help people find homes. Therefore, I treat people that I come in contact with with respect, understanding and throw in a little humor and I feel like I get that back as well.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired today, I believe that my customers would miss my genuineness. I try to make contact with all my previous customers on a regular basis. I keep up with current customers and make sure that I am doing everything that I can to make their experience an easy and enjoyable one. I value the friendships that form along the way and try to nourish those friendships after the transaction has completed.
