An Inspired Chat with Qimar Gordon of Tampa

Qimar Gordon shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Qimar, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
For me integrity is everything! How you value yourself and your morals can put either a good or bad image in the people you meet everyday’s mind. Without integrity it’s hard to progress not only in business but throughout life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, my name is Qimar Gordon with Golden Ticket Bullyz. We are a dog kennel that not only focuses on breeding but also helping the community understand that we are more than people that sell dogs we build relationships with all of our clients and treat the dogs the same way we treat our children. What makes us unique is every purchase from golden Ticket Bullyz is different we offer a multitude of things from free photoshoots, to dog training, to video shoots anything to make the process more comfortable for our clients. What I want people to know about us as a brand is we go all in no matter what to make sure our puppies not only gone to great homes but they go to forever homes, we spent a full year away from breeding to build our brand and to come up with a formula to create fully functional, loving, caring and healthy lifelong furbabies!

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
The biggest moment that shaped how I see the world was when I decided to go all in on the dog breeding. A lot of close friends and family laughed at the thought and make a mockery of it, but as time went on they are wanting to hop on board and be apart of our greatness but it’s too late. Going into business I had to realize friends and family won’t support you until your name is in the stars it will be the random people you meet along the journey that show the most love and support!

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
The time when we almost gave up was when we lost two of our best dogs in a 6 month time period. That was a tragic loss for us not only financially but also emotionally they were family to us and losing them almost made us shut everything down but if we had done that we wouldn’t be here today expressing how far we came and the many things we did to build this wonderful brand.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
The biggest thing my close friends would say matters to me most is credibility and respect. I’m heavy on both of those things for multiple reasons, when being in business and having financials involved you have to have credibility or things will go down hill fast. If I can’t trust my team with simple things then it keeps us in a box that we can only grow so big in. Everyone has to be on the same accord if we want our brand to be represented the right way, rather that’s in public or private we have to be sensible and respectful everywhere we go.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
A lot of people think that things were handed to me and that’s far from the truth. I have family who is big in the dog game that wouldn’t give me 5 minutes of their time when I was coming up, everything I did I had to get it on my own from the ground up. Now those same people are trying to double back and join the movement but again it’s too late.
