We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jordan Royale. Check out our conversation below.
Jordan, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I would say I am walking a path. Wandering to me is like wandering in the woods without a compass or map, and no cell phone service. I definitely have a goal in mind and I am heading more and more towards that goal every day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a musician turned content creator who specializes in jewelry, streetwear, comedy videos, and recently wrestling content; which I plan to do more of this year. Over the last year, 1 year from July to be exact, I was really, REALLY working my tail off building my Amazon Storefront. We’ve all seen it, a creator has a link in bio, with an Amazon Storefront link. But how many of you actually clicked that link and saw how many items were posted? What if I told some of the biggest content creators who have even 1 million followers only have about 10-30 items listed on there. I have 546 at the date of this article. That was my mission, to take a side step and really build my Amazon Storefront. I am Silver status, which is 2 away from Platinum. Platinum gives you invites to invite-only photoshoots for Amazon brands, Amazon’s Yearly Creator Summit, and seasonal gift boxes (trust me when I say I can never have enough of these from all the brands I work with lol)
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
A scared little boy. Yes you read that right, a scared little boy. Hiding behind coding HTML and JavaScript into my MySpace profile (laughs). I felt I knew a lot and learned a lot on my own, especially learning marketing at such an early age. I had dreams and goals, but they were always shutdown or made a mockery of. The good news is, I never let my small minded family or peers hold me back. I faced those challenges head on, and if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t be where I am at today.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Oh absolutely! With this Amazon journey (which is what we’re here to talk about), it takes so much dedication it’s almost unreal. 5-7 days a week I’m filming anywhere from 1-10 items daily. When making an Amazon Storefront shoppable video it can really be broken down to 3 important steps.
1. What pain point does the product solve for someone who doesn’t currently own it?
2. Why this product and not others?
3. Why do (I Jordan) personally like it?
Not to mention the retakes and uploading and tagging with the proper metadata. Also, let’s not dismiss the fact of understanding the product first before you even film it. This is especially important if it’s a gamer headset, wireless headphones, gaming controller, or tablet for example. It’s definitely not for the weak-spirited. If you’re dedicated however, it can not only add to your lifestyle by giving you tons of products that you would otherwise purchase, you are also now earning commissions on all of those items. If you can continue to keep your positive energy, it can turn into a SERIOUS passive income. I know Amazon creators that are making $10k a month just on Amazon Storefront.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. Wholeheartedly yes. And I don’t think I could say that 10 years ago. Actually, I know for a fact I couldn’t say that 10 years ago. Ya know, for the people that get into the creator business, whether it be music or some sort of content creation, I think a lot of people like to create an avatar or character for themselves. I get it, I really do. But after a while, it becomes tiring. I think that is what happens when breaking into the business. For example, we’ve seen so many rappers break into the industry as rap and then branch out from there after they’ve already broken into the business. There is so many examples here, but Post Malone and Jelly Roll come to mind here if we’re talking music.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
Fearless. I hope people realize that I have never taken no for an answer in life. I’ve kicked and screamed my way through every success. I’ve fell back in the mud and climbed back out on top. No matter the endeavor, this has always applied to my every move. I hope people see that and most importantly remember that.
