An Inspired Chat with Gabrielle Rene of Tampa

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Gabrielle Rene. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Gabrielle, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? When was the last time you felt true joy?
On our last girls’ trip in Colorado, we went on a hike through the wildflowers. I remember looking back out into the sea of flowers, surrounded by genuinely just nice girls, and my heart felt so full. Even better, that was considered a “work day” for me.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I am Gabi, I run a social media and marketing agency that also hosts local events and girls’ trips all around the world! Having found a way to combine my love for travel with my expertise through social media into this uniquely niched little corner of the internet that is at its core about bringing likeminded women together.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Bonds break when you try to be something or someone you aren’t. When you don’t have respect for those around you. What restores them is shared experiences. There is nothing more bonding than exploring new places, new cultures, and new events with others.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
I used to really struggle with female relationships. I expected a lot out of friendships because I knew I was willing to give that much. The problem was that I was applying too much pressure and my expectations were too high, leaving me constantly disappointed. I have learned that the best way to maintain healthy and positive relationships comes with meeting people where they are. I love that my business brings me women who have had similar experiences to me, making me feel seen and finally appreciated for my love of people.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That you have to pick one passion, one place to live, one career path, one best friend, pick ONE!

Such a myth, if I listened to every “social media” expert along the way that told me I needed to niche and “pick one thing to focus on,” well, my life would not look like this.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
She showed you can actually love the work you do, I hope there are countless women who say I brought them their best friend. No one has to love me, but my ability to connect women has never failed me. I want to be remembered for that.
