We recently had the chance to connect with Devin Sales and have shared our conversation below.
Devin, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
I’m a Mama first and I make sure I get my son to School on time and head to start my day as a full time braider! I normally take 1-3 appointments in a day, it depends on what styles are getting done. I knock out my appointments in such a decent time that I am able to still have the evenings with my kids! My clients love coming to see me and always love the talent and energy I bring to each appointment.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello,
My name is Devin aka Braids by Diva D! I am a full time hairstylist/braider who uses my God given talents to provide quality, lightweight and protective braids styles. I love what I do and I make sure to show that in my work and in the customer service I provide during each appointment. I moved to Florida 2 and a half years ago and have been quickly climbing up the latter in Tampa and surrounding areas! I’ve been braiding for 8 years and plan to continue braiding and building my business. I have two beautiful children, Adonis (4) and Aeris (1) and I love them with all of my being. I always say that all it takes is for someone to sit in my chair and they will never want another braider again! Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I believe that God has always seen me and believed in me before I could see it myself. I kept my faith strong and stayed positive and greatful and God makes sure to work wonders in my life!
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
To stay confident and be sure of yourself! There’s a big world out there full of possibilities and the only thing stopping you from reaching them, is you.

They would say my children and doing my best to be a kind and loving person!

That I loved with the love of Christ, and that I lived a happy and journey filled life!
