We’re looking forward to introducing you to Chantal Butler. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Chantal, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I am being called to speak and tell my story. I am pretty private and don’t share alot about myself especially in front of new people but through Enlightened Florida I am being drawn to speaking more on my passions and purpose.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Chantal Butler and I am the Executive Director of Enlightened Florida. My passion has always been serving our community and began with hosting health and wellness events. We are now a 501c3 organization fully dedicated to promoting healthy living through not only our health fairs, but now we host educational workshops and partner with other organizations for various community outreach initiatives.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I would have to say that going through my own cancer diagnosis truly shaped who I am today. I believe God doesn’t give us more than we can handle, and while that was one of the toughest times of my life — even as a nurse — it transformed me.
That experience pushed me to take on a bigger role in helping others beyond my immediate circle. I’ve always cared deeply for my patients, my family, and my close community, but my diagnosis inspired me to step outside my comfort zone.
It motivated me to serve on a larger scale — bringing healthy resources to the community in ways I hope are fresh, accessible, and empowering. My goal is to encourage others to take a proactive approach to their health and to remind them that they’re never alone in the fight.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, definitely — especially in the beginning when I first started hosting events. While I still have a long way to go to reach my goal of serving thousands at each event, our reach has grown significantly since those early days when only a small audience would attend.
It was tough at first, especially knowing how much time and effort went into creating an uplifting and impactful experience. But I eventually realized I had to shift my focus — instead of being discouraged by the number of attendees, I started focusing on the impact we were making.
Even if only a few people showed up, what mattered most was that someone walked away with valuable resources, support, or inspiration. That mindset has kept me moving forward.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I am committed to providing opportunities and projects that promote healthy living in our community.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’m definitely doing what I was born to do — and that’s to serve wholeheartedly. What better way to fulfill that purpose than by encouraging others to live fuller, healthier lives?
