We recently had the chance to connect with April Moise and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning April, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
That it is easy because it is something you love doing and is a talent.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am April J. Moise, I am a Fashion Designer. I design clothing and accessories here in the Tampa Bay area. Chateau De Curb Gear is the brand name. And is a American made brand. A bit classic, eclectic, urban,chic and avant-garde. And always ready to present a runway show for a cause.
Currently working on AG pieces for exhibiting in art museums in the Tampa Bay.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with my father. Because he was an artist and a creator. A musician and a singer. And I saw and watched him as the artist he was, the designer and creator he was with his hands and imagination. I learned from that and he took the time to teach me and coach me with the sketch pencil he put to paper and made everything he drew, come to life.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Of course, many times. And those time still show up because I am not as far as I know I should be. Opportunities don’t approach every person with the same advantages. Some of us have to keep looking for opportunities.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie is that fashion is affordable , everybody wants it and everybody cares about fashion. LOL
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
That is an easy one. Me and my happy self! My memories and my Laughter and love and family and friends!
