Rising Stars: Meet Casey Broach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Broach.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Casey Broach, and I started practicing yoga a little over 8 years ago because I wanted how to learn how to stretch better for the gym. Teaching a yoga class is not something I ever thought I would be doing, and it wasn’t my goal when I started yoga.

Through yoga, I discovered so much about myself physically, mentally, and spiritually. I decided I wanted to share this experience with others and started my YTT 2oo hour training in January 2022.

It was here that I realized this was my calling. Where my voice can sometimes be soft, it was strong while teaching. Where usually being in front of a group of people would set my nerves on edge, I was calm and relaxed.

I love the growth involved in yoga, and I aspire to inspire others to experience the growth that I have. After YTT graduation, I created The Vessel Yoga. Instead of having a variety of classes offered at a variety of times and places, I wanted to put the power of growth in the hands of the practitioners.

The Vessel Yoga is different because I personally design and tailor each class to the goals and needs of the student. The classes are designed for one to a few participants at a time. The student shares with me their goals in yoga if there are any certain types of yoga or specific postures they’d like to learn or advance at, and the frequency they want to practice. I also offer the incorporation of meditation, essential oils, pranayama, crystals, adjustments, and lessons in adding these to your practice.

The students set their own schedules and location. I offer lessons on the beach, in parks, or in your own home from 7 am to 8:30 pm every day of the week. This empowers the yogi to not only meet their yogic goals at a time that works for them but to have someone there to personally guide them. This way you know if you’re doing the poses correctly and not just guessing.

The Vessel Yoga opened in July 2022 in Tampa, Florida, and is currently accepting new clients.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are a lot of amazing yoga studios in the Tampa Bay area, so finding a way to set me apart was the biggest challenge. I really didn’t want to offer classes that I thought people would be interested in at times that I hoped would be free and at places that I hoped would be convenient. This is where the idea of one on one classes that were tailored to the client began. I decided to start with the client and to listen to them tell me what they want to learn on their yogic journey versus the other way around.

I have had a lot of doubters about this approach as it isn’t what yoga instructors generally do, but I am passionate about being the vessel for my client’s yogic journey, and every journey is unique. I believe this is the best way for me to be able to do that.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a yoga teacher who specializes in tailored yoga classes on the individual level in the Tampa Bay area. I view yoga as much of a spiritual and mental practice as a physical one, and I am excited to share what I have learned on my yogic journey, which I am still growing on myself, with others.

I am also a Sr Data Specialist at LexisNexis with a background in Marketing.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
The best thing that you can do is attend in-person yoga classes with as many different teachers and class types as you can to learn what clicks with you. If you are unable to do that, social media- Instagram and Facebook in particular- are great places to connect with other yogis and yoga instructors.
