Meet Colony Reeves

Today we’d like to introduce you to Colony Reeves

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up in a very loving household. I had the typical over protective Dad and older brother and a very supportive mother. I was treated like a princess considering I was the first born girl to my parents. My sister came years later. My family is originally from Tampa. Growing up I was always into pageants, dance recitals and modeling. I was different from my fellow friends and classmates. While they were playing outside on the weekends, I was going to castings and auditions. I did not find my passion for Real Estate until I graduated college and realized that I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I graduated from the University of South Florida and became really depressed because I had no direction for the course of my life after graduation. I could not find a job that interest me and found myself settling for a Teaching position at an elementary school. I became so depressed that I went to my parents in tears hoping they could help me figure out my life.

My dad suggested that I look into becoming a Real Estate agent. He has always invested in Real Estate and has several rental properties. He figured I would do well because of my vibrant personality, people skills, work ethic and knowledge of Tampa neighborhoods, with me being a Tampa Native. Taking his advice and pursuing a career in Real Estate is the best decision that I have ever made. I get the feeling of fulfillment every time I get to help and educate someone on purchasing or selling their home. I have been a Realtor for three years and have not looked back. I have many aspirations on making a huge impact in my beautiful city of Tampa Bay.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not been a smooth road. My first year in Real Estate I had no idea what I was doing! The first brokerage that I hung my license with provided very little training and the Top producing agent that I was assigned to shadow, never had time to actually show me the ropes. I became very discouraged and actually stopped working in Real Estate for majority of that year. By close to the end of my first year, I got my motivation back and had a clearer vision. I took a leap of faith and joined a brokerage that provided the training that I needed and fit my vision for my future. I also had a supportive family member and family friend that gave me a shot at listing their home and becoming my first two clients. I am forever grateful to them for giving me the opportunity because those transactions helped solidify myself as a listing agent.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Real Estate agent?
I am a Realtor with Allure Realty LLC. We are a luxury brokerage providing professionalism, personality and style. I am known as a Listing Specialist, providing services to individuals who are looking to sell their homes. I also work with buyers. My strategic marketing sets me apart from other Realtors. I just recently launched my website, which showcases my new branding. www.colonyreeves.com allows my peers and clients to get to know me and connect with me. My clients often describe me as knowledgeable, reliable, professional and persistent. I am fully committed to building genuine working relationships with clients and peers. I want readers to know that I will listen to understand all of my client’s needs and work diligently on their behalf to achieve their Real Estate goals.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I have learned is to be patient and always seek knowledge. Success will not happen overnight. It takes consistent work and the desire to always better yourself and brush up on your skills.
