Inspiring Conversations with Marticia Cheatham of Body Goalz Contouring

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marticia Cheatham.

Marticia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Born and raised in Tarpon Springs, FL.

I’ve always had a dream and the drive to help others. Growing up, my dream career was to be a psychologist or a child protective worker as well as a foster parent. My love for children and want to help moms in any way I could still motivate me to this day. In 2016, I graduated from college majoring in human services, and used my degree to help others.

During my time in the social work field, I learned a lot about providing resources to the problems people were having and importantly the lack of self-care and attention that moms were getting in everyday life putting themselves last as we usually do. Being a mom, I personally understand firsthand the feeling of just wanting to feel and look like yourself again so I researched, studied, trained, and opened Body Goalz Contouring.

Body Goalz Contouring is a Sculpting studio specializing in Non-Invasive Body treatments, my mission is to help women gain their confidence back or simply enhance it by being and feeling comfortable in their skin and with their bodies.

Not only do my clients get to just relax and cater to themselves but they also get their ME TIME that we all want and need, and being able to provide a self-care environment and build rapport with my clients is what it’s all about!

I want Body Goalz Contouring to be the topic of girl talks, on women’s spa day to-do lists, and the place they can come when they need that extra confidence before putting on that little black dress!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The road has been anything but smooth for me lol let’s be honest I’m a single mom of 5 who was going to school, working, building a business, and not to mention juggling time, energy, attention, and resources between 6 people things have definitely gotten overwhelmed and stressful for me plenty and I mean plenty of times.

As a young girl, my dream was always to have a big family and 9 was the magic number of kids, I wanted but as I got older and started having real-life adulthood experiences I began to understand the importance of money managing, building, and having credit, education thinking practical and logical and that having multiple streams of income was the only way myself and my children would not only survive but be able to live a good life.

When inflation began it affected me in 2009, right after giving birth to my last child who was 1 at the time, housing prices were starting to skyrocket and I remember the notice on the door saying my rent was increasing by almost $500 all at once and me thinking ” there’s no way I’m paying this, not to live here!” so I put a plan in action as I always do.

The following week I ended my maternity leave early and I went back to work, I didn’t have a car at the time because my engine had just blown so I walked to the part-time job I had which was about 20 minutes away. Two months later I had a car, I got a better paying job, put everything in storage and moved in with my mom and stayed there while my new place was getting ready.

Sleeping on the floor at my mom’s house was a major eye-opener for me because where she lived she wasn’t supposed to have guests for more than 14 days and even though the manager was understanding when the stay turned into 1 month my mother told me we had to go and suggested that I take my children to a homeless shelter until my place was ready and that I refused to do!

I called up a friend who didn’t even hesitate and told us to come on and hurry up lol so we moved in with her for a few weeks and when my apartment was finally ready, we left bright and early got settled in and everything was starting to feel normal again.

I’ve always been an independent, hardworking person I get that from my mother, and being ambitious and having goals and dreams stem from growing up reading books and them conditioning me to want more so setting goals, planning, and executing them was second nature to me.

When the pandemic hit, the same month as moving it put me in a mental space to just sit, focus and build and that’s what I did, I never wanted to be in any situation again where the stability of my children and I was in another person’s hands so I took my stimulus checks + my paychecks and invested in our future, I studied, researched and trained.

One night, I was telling a friend about my plans and he responded “I can get you a place for your business.” I thought he was joking around as we usually do but he was serious and sent me to his commercial landlord and in a week or so I had an office space, and that is how Body Goalz Contouring became a brick and mortar.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in non-invasive body treatments such as fat reduction, skin tightening, cellulite treatment, red light laser therapy, tooth gems, yoni v-steaming, butt enhancement via vacuum therapy, and many more self-care products and services.

I would say what sets me apart from others is my attention to detail, my willingness to want to help and solve clients’ issues and problems, and most importantly I’ve been told over and over that my customer service is top tier, lol.

I’m proud to be able to offer affordable non-invasive services to men and women in a warm, inviting, and relaxing environment especially since there’s really nothing like this in our area, majority of these services are only offered in bigger cities such as Atlanta, Miami, and Beverly Hill’s.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Lady luck has always been on my side even when I felt like giving up, overwhelmed, short on time, and even low on funds somehow someway things seem to always work out in my favor, and like clockwork, God was and is always on time!

I believe when you want something bad enough when you have a goal and or dream you’ll find a way to achieve it, even when things seem impossible day by day bit by bit achievements turn into the big picture because, in the end, it is not a race its a learning, growing and building journey.
