Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica Mendez.

Hi Veronica, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always had a passion for Creative Arts, especially Interior Design and Home Organization, however, life happened, and decided it had other plans for me. Since the 2000s, I’ve worked in the corporate world, understanding the inner workings of how businesses are run, from working with start-ups to internationally renowned establishments, however somehow I still felt something was missing.

Having to put my passion aside to be a young mother and do the adulting thing, in 2017, before The Home Edit and Marie Kondo craze took off, I was on vacation with my daughter visiting my grandmother in Puerto Rico and decided that the corporate world just wasn’t enough. I wanted to do something I was passionate about that would help me earn an extra income since my daughter was headed to college. I wasn’t quite sure exactly what I wanted to do. I already had the education as I earned my BS in the Science of Business in 2015 and had over 20 years in the corporate world, but what could I do? Then it hit me! I love to organize and have things in their place, how about Home Organizing, was it a thing? After researching. it was a thing!

Excited to learn it was a thing, MyDiamond Organizer was born in Chattanooga, TN. I started networking and got the support I needed from friends, community leaders, and local establishments. As news of my business started to get out, local Realtors started inquiring about Staging Consultations, and shortly after Moving Companies sought me out to help with Corporate Relocations. Still with one foot in the door of the corporate world and still having to ensure my daughter had the financial support she needed while in college, I juggled both until after she graduated.

After years in the corporate world my parents, who both have lived in Florida for more than 16+ years asked me to come move to Fl to be closer to family, and in the middle of the pandemic, I took a risk and I did just that. When I got to FL, I was in the corporate world, but decided that MyDiamond Organizer was only specific to organizing and I now offered more services.

So, in April of 2023, I decided to rebrand to Veronica’s Premier Home Services, an upscale visionary business that addresses the growing need for seamless Home Transitions and customized Home Organization solutions. Shortly after, I decided to bet on myself! I quit my corporate job of 8 years and dove head first, into growing my business and creating my path in the Home Services Industry.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being a business owner is a very risky and challenging road. There have been many ups and downs throughout my journey, but wouldn’t change it for the world. While anyone can start a business with very little money, it’s important to know, that you need to have to have money to spend money along with a lot of drive, support, and determination.

Waiting until my daughter graduated and being in a much more comfortable place financially, I have been able to dedicate the time I need to grow my business.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the COVID-19 crisis?
Always make sure to ask pertinent health and safety precaution questions when doing your initial consultation.

Considering we still offered our services during the pandemic, we learned the importance of ensuring we got as much information as possible and ensured we provided our clients with our safety precautions policy.

We ensured each client was fully aware, of our commitment to keeping our distance, ensured we wore our masks during each service, and provided all the supplies we needed to do our job effectively like wearing gloves and having hand sanitizer and our cleaning supplies. This made each experience within that time much smoother and ensured we made our clients feel safe.

Pricing:

  • Home Organizing & Design – $75 per/hr
  • Home Transitions (Moving Preparations /Packing and Unpacking & Settling-in) $65 per/hr
