Hidden Gems: Meet Kelly Sues of Liquid Soul Yoga & Massage

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Sues.

Hi Kelly, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My story is all about self-discovery, self-love, and learning to trust my inner guidance. I struggled with anxiety and depression throughout my childhood and young adulthood. I was so uncomfortable in my skin and no matter what I did, I struggled to love and accept myself. I kept feeling a call for something greater, a way to express all of the love and compassion I felt inside out to the world, but it was as though I was imprisoned by my own fear, anxiety, and overwhelming sadness. I didn’t know where to start, so I figured Google was the best answer, LOL. I kept searching for alternative health modalities I could study to make myself healthy and happy. A particular yoga studio in another state continued to come into my awareness…aka my computer screen.

So that is where my real journey began. As I studied and practiced yoga, and at the same time began my Reiki certification, I began to sift through the layers of sadness and anxiety, wean myself off all my medications, and find my internal voice of guidance. I rented space from a dear friend and mentor utilizing my newfound skills in yoga and Reiki as a side business on the weekends and after hours, while keeping my corporate job and studying psychology. I prayed every night for guidance on how to move towards being a healing practitioner full-time, but I felt obligated financially to stay in my corporate position. My husband’s job relocated us to Florida, which gave me the opportunity to quit my job and follow my dream. I attended massage therapy school once I moved to Florida, which allowed me to step onto the path of my true passion. A year after receiving my massage therapy license, I created my LLC, Liquid Soul Yoga & Massage. The name Liquid Soul was born of my beliefs; I feel it is our job in this lifetime to express our souls through our bodies and remain fluid in that expression. That is how I came up with my business name.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the struggles I had through this journey was finding a location in which I felt I could fully express myself and my work in the most genuine and purest nature.

I believe that everything has the right timing and that each one of those struggles has helped me to fine-tune my priorities as well as develop stronger boundaries. Life is all about cycles of change, so I anticipate my business will continue to change and grow and move throughout the years.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Liquid Soul Yoga & Massage?
The mission of my business is to facilitate self-love and acceptance, and non-judgment. I use a variety of modalities such as various types of massage: myofascial, neuromuscular, sports, and lymphatic drainage, as well as energy modalities like Craniosacral, Reiki, Deeksha blessing, quantum healing techniques, and Akashic record work. I also use vibration therapy such as tuning forks and crystal sound bowls. I also teach private yoga sessions that pull in a strong spiritual aspect and a mix of energy work, and I am excited to be getting back into teaching workshops at a local studio starting in January.

What I want to promote the most out of all of my work is the message of accepting our humanness. We have been reared as a society to apologize for many of our natural human behaviors and functions. I can’t tell you how many times people apologize for a tummy growl or hair on their legs. Both of those things are simply just natural in being human and should not be apologized for. My goal for every session is for people to leave feeling lighter, shinier, and like their true being can shine out into the world.

What do you think about happiness?
The things in life that make me the happiest are helping people to feel better, exercising, keeping my body moving, eating healthy foods that nourish my body, and spending time in nature.

To me, experiencing through our nervous system is the whole reason we are here. Our nervous system creates our entire perspective of the world. That’s why interacting with people and interacting with the planet brings me so much joy, it’s the experience.
