Conversations with Meghan Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meghan Jones.

Hi Meghan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a plant-based, holistic integrative nutrition health coach and certified personal trainer, and I help people clean up their eating & heal their life to lower stress so that they can live aligned with their worth & purpose.

I was not always this balanced! It was very much my healing journey that brought me to this point

My life used to be the perfect example of the perfect storm.

I ate my way through almost all of the processed packaged foods that went along with all of the fad diets …whether fat-free, no carbs, other super restrictive diets, or counting calories like a taskmaster. I’d base even more calorie restriction on how hard or not hard I had worked out, and the awful list can go on and on. ⁣⁣ To be honest, I’ve always been relatively small, but I was living with constant bloating, digestive issues, bad allergies, epic low moods, terrible monthly cramps, etc.⁣

Everything I did (at least in my opinion) was not good enough … and not only was it not good enough, it was NEVER good enough. I never ate well enough, I was never thin enough, I was never fit enough, I never ran fast enough, I never was doing my job well enough, I wasn’t a good enough daughter, family member, friend, coworker … honestly, it was a pretty brutal internal existence.⁣

And of course, because how we are internally is reflected back to us externally, all of my relationships reflected this stuff above too. Whether friends, boyfriends, parents, work situations, small phone conversations with the phone company or the electric company … when I was constantly internally & energetically in a space of general awfulness, almost every interaction reflected exactly that as well. It sucked. ⁣⁣

There was a moment one summer where I was sobbing on the bathroom floor of a rental condo in Colorado feeling hopeless, totally over it, and wondering if there was a p
oint to literally anything in my life … I had felt “done” before, but this was probably the biggest pivot point when I knew things must change. ⁣⁣

I reached out to a “Peak Performance Coach” for what I thought would just be help & clarity for my orchestra career, and what he assigned opened me WIDE up to begin reading/learning/searching/finding/craving/seeking greater & greater balance in my life … in everything seen & unseen. Since then, I’ve continued the journey, mentoring with a Shaman for the past 13 years⁣⁣.

Consciously becoming more and more aware that what I eat, how I exercise & treat my body, and what I pay attention to mentally/emotionally/spiritually are ALL connected, literally changed, and saved my life … across the board in every way. ⁣⁣The indescribable transformations in my life that have continued to blow my mind span everything from improved energy levels, way more balanced mood, clear skin, ideal weight for my body, allergies under control, no more constant bloating, healthy digestive system, etc … and honestly, a continually growing internal sense of balance, peace, and self-value that I never knew was attainable for me. ⁣⁣

By increasing my awareness and consciously eating, exercising, and communicating with my intuition more & more on purpose, my life has completely changed for the better, and now I help clients create their versions of those same shifts in their lives both internally & externally … as I continue walking on my path too.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh my goodness, no haha! A lot of the struggles along the way were from ME!

Likely how I was hardwired as I came into this lifetime, certainly a lot of limiting beliefs coming from childhood experiences, and in all honesty, there were many times I didn’t want to be here anymore dealing with feeling “less than” in every single aspect of every single area of my life whether in school, relationships, professionally, or where ever else.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I could have checked 2 of those boxes … the Artist/Creative + the Other.

My health coaching practice is what I’ll share most about in this interview, but I am also Assistant Principal Second Violin in the Sarasota Orchestra (a career I’ve had for decades that I enjoy, and am currently able to do simultaneously alongside my health coaching).

Health coaching with me is all about you. It’s a holistic program that helps you in every way manage your health, happiness, and success … because it all works together. It expands beyond health healing into soul healing, trauma healing, more alignment with who you really are, and living so much more stress-free, intentionally, and on purpose.

You learn how to tap in, tune in, read, listen, sense, and feel the real soul/spirit you.

Yes, we talk about food, cleaning up your eating, finding exactly what your body likes, wants, heals with, and thrives with.

It’s finding what kind of movement your body likes, wants, needs, thrives & strengthens with.

It’s leaning more and more into the sacred silence that is always there for us, finding ways that are easy and simple for you to create pockets of peace, which is honestly the super fuel to cleaning up & healing every aspect of your life.

Creating space with new beneficial patterns that serve you across the board … health-wise, relationship-wise, work-wise … because it’s all connected.

And it all starts with you. You are the common denominator in your life. So I guess you could say, health coaching with me is health healing, soul healing, and practicing the fine art of you.

Networking and finding a mentor can have a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Love this question! I’ve found my mentors/coaches in such varying ways!

My Peak Performance Coach lectured somewhere that I attended. I heard him and thought “Wow, I can see how he could help people”, but I didn’t apply it to me and it wasn’t the right time. 3 years later when I was at one of my rock bottoms, HE popped into my head, I reached out, he had 1:1 coaching spots available, and that was that. I worked with him for 2 years.

With my Shaman it was more of a winding path finding her … I worked with a therapist for a couple of years who then recommended one of her energy worker friends to me. That energy worker friend suggested I go to a retreat with a Shaman friend of hers. I went. And then also attended a second retreat that she hosted … and felt I really needed to work 1:1 with this Shaman, asked her, and have been working with her now for 13 years straight!

I’d say my advice is that when it’s the right time, it’s really clear! Maybe you hear someone lecture, think they’re interesting, and 3 years later reach out to study with them. Maybe you meet a therapist who introduces you to a friend who introduces you to another friend … who happens to be a Shaman you study with for decades.

Be open. Divine timing is a thing. The adage “when the student is ready, the teacher appears” is TRUE.
