Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Dela Vega.
Hi Lindsay, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi! I’m Lindsay. Owner and photographer at Eden Lane Photography LLC. I have had a passion for capturing people since I was a kid. I grew up in Tampa and I have raised my two children, Eve and Eli here. Just a quick backstory… I was a newborn photographer in the hospital. I adored my job! Best job I ever had! I had a camera in one hand and a baby in the other. I was great at what I did and it was the most rewarding job.
I give so much credit to my boss, Michelle. She was my mentor! She saw my passion and she taught me everything she knew! One day, she took me to buy my first camera. Now, thirteen years later, and I never put it down. Eden Lane was a real place! It was my two-acre beautiful backyard oasis! I began shooting families in my yard. Everyone loved it! Soon after, I launched my business officially. I never looked back.
It hasn’t always been easy. In fact, the photography business is really tough. But if you find something you love, you hold on tight, right? I offer my clients beautiful, classic family portraits, captivating newborn photography, stunning wedding photography, and an unforgettable experience!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Being a photographer is a constant roller coaster of “I’m so busy I can’t think straight” to “I’m failing, I have no clients, no one loves me.” The seasons can be drastic and inconsistent. There have been several times throughout the years when I have sought out another job.
None of which ever stuck. Photography is always calling me! There is always more to learn and room to grow- and it is challenging and rewarding and frustrating and exhilarating!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love people! I don’t get the same rush photographing cars or landscapes. I love making that connection and getting to know people and it’s so important as a photographer because it translates into images that truly represent each client and what they love and what they are about!
I love “Touring Tampa” and sightseeing with my clients in this amazing city that I was born and raised in! Locals love being captured in their element and out of towners are amazed by the beauty and diversity of our city!!! When my clients look back on their images, I want them to remember the feeling and the experience of the day!
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Consistency is key! Always continue learning and always be open to criticism!
