Community Highlights: Meet Rebecca Klingenschmitt of Active Solutions Rehab & Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Klingenschmitt.

Hi Rebecca, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I grew up in Chapel Hill, NC and have lived in Alabama, Virginia, South Carolina, and now Florida. My husband and I moved to Tampa in October 2020 and plan to stay here long-term.

There was never any specific defining moment that led me to become a physical therapist, but I attribute being drawn to PT by my lifelong fascination with the human body and early introduction to the medical field through an injury when I was 7 years old. As I learned more about PT over the years leading up to college, I was drawn to the way PT can help people decrease pain/other symptoms (such as stiffness, dizziness, etc.) and improve function without using medications or injections and can also help prevent surgeries.

I graduated from Marymount University in 2015, where I received my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. In 2018, I graduated from the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency program at the Medical University of South Carolina, and in 2019, I became a Board-certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy.

After years of working in traditional outpatient physical therapy settings and seeing the need for more personalized care not typically available in the traditional healthcare model, I founded Active Solutions Rehab & Wellness in January 2021. Through Active Solutions Rehab & Wellness, I strive to provide more personalized and holistic care than what is often experienced in the traditional healthcare system. I view myself as a “movement optimist” and see the body as resilient and adaptable, and I seek to be your guide along the rehab process and work together with you to get you back to doing the activities you love without the barriers of pain, injury, or physical limitations.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Just being new to the area (having moved here October 2020), it has been a challenge getting word out that I am here in the Tampa area and available to help people!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love the weather and ability to be outside year-round! I love that there is always something to do! I enjoy watching sports and love that Tampa has several professional sports teams!

Being newer to the area, I haven’t found anything I don’t like yet!
