Today we’d like to introduce you to Diane Crespo.
Hi Diane, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I went to school for mental health counseling. After interning, I learned I am the type of person who needs to see an outcome. This doesn’t happen for counselors too often. I became a career counselor at the collegiate level and loved that but always loved organizing our supplies and flyers so much more.
Organizing has always been a way to help relieve my anxiety. I realized quickly with my organizing skills, I am able to help others with their mental health as well and I can see the results. It all came full circle. I create order where there is chaos. I have loved keeping order since I was young, for example, I would keep all of my game pieces organized in bags and loved organizing my cousin’s toys, they must have loved that (ha!).
After moving to Florida, I came across Me In Order. I was able to do what I love-organizing, and let them handle the administrative side to it all. What I do as a Certified Expert Organizer ® goes deeper than clearing space and bringing order to people who struggle with clutter. I create peace and bring a sense of calm to busy and stressful lives.
I have organized offices, paperwork, kitchens, closets, playrooms, sheds, garages, tools, laundry rooms, bathrooms, cars, pantries, the list goes on! You clutter it, I can contain it and make spaces functional and manageable. If it can’t be maintained, I keep it up for clients too.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the obstacles I face is helping people understand what I do as an organizer. Organizers are often mistaken for a cleaning service. Instead, we reorganize any items in your home or business that are causing stress or feelings of being overwhelmed. This includes purging and reevaluating the purpose of clutter and items in our lives and putting them to use or getting rid of them to have a more functional space.
Another obstacle I have recently found is trying to find a community organization that could use my services. I have always volunteered where I could. I am new to Florida and am trying to find the next place to help out. I have done some outreach but I think the disconnect of what an organizer can do is still a hurdle.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Me In Order?

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is learning to drive. Driving has given me so much freedom in my life. I love the time I get to spend in my car exploring new areas and listening to music and podcasts or catching up with friends on the phone.
