Today we’d like to introduce you to Tianna Boswell.
Hi Tianna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m a born and bred New York Native who in search of an entrepreneurial space for creatives developed a platform to meet such needs that I had yet to discover within my educational or professional experiences. After moving to what was named No. 2 of the best places to live in the United States. It had became clear that the Sarasota, Florida area would be where I pursue more intentional writing and community engagement. I engage with the community on a personal level and also explore the meaning of local businesses, their mission, and vision. The Localista Blog came to fruition due to the growing need of an entrepreneurial space for creatives to manifest through connecting and collaboration.
I was able to develop my blog to where it is today by conducting personal interviews with individuals that I’ve met through the years of my career and educational background. The idea bloomed from just my own personal journey of self-discovery and being open to learning a thing or two from others. These experiences and stories have allowed me to explore existential questions about human connections, innovative thinking, prolific strategies, and everything in between. The curation of work compiled on the site are by many great writers, content creators, and contributors. The blog is documenting authenticity and while balancing diverse perspectives.
The blog’s multidimensional lens for rare and profound material makes for great takeaways or finding those gems that unveil one’s purpose.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Melchor Lim said that “Difficult Roads often lead to beautiful destinations”. I believe that you should always remain teachable because life will always serve you a lesson. To be honest some of the best lessons make for great stories, ones that you can share so that others will feel less alone or change the perception that life is meant to be easy. You have to go through the struggle in order to be appreciative of the things that you’ve accomplished. I’ve struggled with many things along this way, some things like many of you have, such as imposter syndrome, boundaries, lack of self-care, rejection, and disappointment. All things that in some way could rock your reality and force you to recenter. What you get out of all that struggle is far more worth it than being safe and learning nothing.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a dedicated, energetic, multifaceted writer, events coordinator, and digital marketing creative with extensive experience in fashion, marketing, and cultural arts. I am competent in coordinating high-level productions, events and program initiatives. I have partnered with local and women-owned businesses and currently serve as community board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast. I’m most known for my platform The Localista Blog, where I discuss prevalent topics amongst creatives that reside throughout the country. I am most proud of my interview with Sarasota Magazine, an exclusive feature titled ‘In the Glow’, where I discussed my skincare regime and how I define beauty as more than skin deep. I also have a podcast about relationships, dynamics, and human behavior, called the Luggage Mixup which can be streamed on anywhere you get your podcasts.
How do you think about happiness?
Traveling, because getting out of your city to have a different world view will not only inspire you, it’ll spark joy and growth.
