Meet Dr. Bobby Koser of HealthSpine Chiropractic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Bobby Koser.

Hi Dr. Bobby, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Bradenton, FL, where I spent most of my time on the water—fishing, windsurfing, and riding stand-up jet skis. Wanting to stay close to family, friends, and that coastal lifestyle, I attended the University of South Florida in Tampa to study anthropology and microbiology. At the time, I thought I’d become an infectious disease doctor.

But life had other plans. After being involved in a hit-and-run car accident, I began chiropractic care. I’d always been curious about chiropractic, but never seriously considered it as a career—until I experienced the results firsthand. The impact was phenomenal. That experience completely shifted my path. Life handed me lemons, and I turned that challenge into purpose—redirecting my future toward helping others through chiropractic care. I went on to earn my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from National University of Health Sciences in St. Petersburg, FL.

I began my career in a high-volume clinic, seeing upwards of 75 patients a day. While the experience was valuable, treating so many different types of patients, I realized that the fast-paced model didn’t reflect how I wanted to care for people. After a lot of brainstorming, I envisioned something more personal where patients could pay an affordable monthly membership and have a meaningful one-on-one visit to address their health needs with advanced therapies—so I left that job to open my own boutique-style clinic, Seminole Heights Chiropractic & Wellness.

With a newborn at home and no outside funding or big marketing budget, I built my first practice the old-fashioned way—walking door to door and introducing myself to local businesses. I still remember those nights in the early days lying awake, thinking about the risks of starting a business from scratch for the first time. It was a lot of work, but the community embraced me. That’s where the foundation of my boutique, concierge clinic model was born. I knew this wasn’t just about helping people feel better—it was about earning their trust, just like I once trusted my chiropractor to guide me through recovery.

Later on, I was offered a rare opportunity to join the medical staff at Laser Spine Institute (LSI), one of the world’s largest ambulatory spine surgery centers based in Tampa. Only a handful of chiropractors nationwide had ever held a role like that, which gave me a unique perspective bridging conservative care with surgical evaluation. After a lot of consideration, I transitioned from private practice to this once-in-a-lifetime role. I worked alongside spine surgeons, pain specialists, and anesthesiologists in a triage consult role, often reviewing 20–30 MRIs per day and providing second opinions. I also served as medical advisor to a team of nearly 100 consultants and developed their telehealth consults program.

When LSI unexpectedly closed in early 2019, it opened the door to my next chapter. I returned to my roots in private practice providing concierge care and opened HealthSpine Chiropractic in Carrollwood with a lot of niche expertise in interdisciplinary spine care. Many of my former patients returned, and we’ve continued growing here in Tampa Bay ever since.

At HealthSpine Chiropractic, we offer a modern, tech-forward approach that blends traditional chiropractic with innovative treatments like AI-assisted strength training, virtual reality rehab, cold laser therapy, and reflex training walls. We also provide more familiar services like spinal adjustments, decompression therapy, acupuncture, and dry needling.

I also launched Lifeline Spine, a virtual second-opinion spine consultation service for patients all across Florida. This was inspired by my time at LSI, where I saw firsthand how valuable unbiased guidance can be for patients navigating complex spine care decisions. Our goal is to empower patients with clarity—without pressure, upsells, or surgical bias.

As more practices are absorbed by corporate groups, I believe people value independent, family-owned clinics even more—where your name is on the door and you’re personally accountable for every patient’s care. When you walk into our office, you know exactly who’s treating you. There’s something more human about that kind of consistency—not just being another number in a system.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Opening my first concierge-style chiropractic clinic in Seminole Heights back then was a leap of faith. Most people didn’t know what it meant, so I had to educate the community on the value of one-on-one care. These days, membership-based care is more common, and while that’s a common element of concierge clinics, that doesn’t automatically make them concierge. For example, many corporate chiropractic chains that offer memberships reduce your visits to a two-minute in-and-out adjustment, and that’s it. That’s not concierge care.

At HealthSpine Chiropractic, we offer real concierge care—goal-oriented visits, advanced therapies, and real time with the doctor. But sometimes it still takes effort to explain how we differ from traditional or high-volume chiropractic clinics.

When Laser Spine Institute closed in 2019, it was another turning point. Like many others, I was left without a job overnight. But that reset helped me double down on my vision. I reopened in Carrollwood with a renewed sense of purpose—and being independent ever since has come with its own set of challenges, but also with enormous privileges.

It’s been quite the journey getting to this point, but everything I’ve learned along the way has shaped who I am—and I believe it gives me an edge when treating patients today.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about HealthSpine Chiropractic | Lifeline Spine?
At HealthSpine Chiropractic, we’re not your average clinic—and that’s entirely by design. We serve Carrollwood and the greater Tampa Bay area with one clear goal: to provide one-on-one, concierge-style chiropractic care that puts patients first. Our boutique, concierge-style model means patients can enroll into a monthly membership to get extended one-on-one care, direct access to the doctor, and personalized advanced treatments without the rushed feel of traditional clinics.

No crowded waiting rooms. No rushed adjustments. No cookie-cutter plans. Whether someone is recovering from an auto injury, managing chronic back pain, or simply aiming to feel their best, we create customized care plans focused on their spine and joint goals.

We combine traditional chiropractic care with modern innovations like:
• AI-assisted strength training that adapts to your body in real time
• Virtual reality rehab that makes recovery fun and effective
• Cold laser therapy to reduce inflammation and speed up healing
• Reflex training walls to improve balance and coordination (especially for athletes)
• 3-D laser scanned foot orthotics, and additional advanced therapies

Our other company, Lifeline Spine, offers virtual second-opinion consultations for Tampa and all of Florida. After LSI, spine second opinions became a natural extension of my work, so we launched Lifeline Spine. There, I review each patient’s medical history, conduct a one-on-one MRI evaluation, and discuss all potential treatment options and referrals in a virtual consultation. We also condense this into a report for the patient to have and give to their medical provider. Just recently, I saw a gentleman who was scheduled for routine injections and wanted a second opinion due to the severity of his symptoms. After reviewing his MRI, I discovered severe spinal cord compression in his neck. He was losing balance and strength, and time was of the essence. We got him referred out for urgent surgery just in time and he’s doing great now. Catching that early made all the difference—and possibly kept him out of a wheelchair. That’s the kind of outcome that drives me when I see patients.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me, success is the sum of four things: hard work, luck, personal freedom, and professional fulfillment.

Hard work is the foundation. You can’t skip it. I built my clinics relationship by relationship—walking door to door, showing up every day.

Luck plays a role, too. Sometimes it’s about being in the right place at the right time when a great opportunity presents itself. But you have to be present and proactive for luck to find you.

Personal freedom means showing up for your family, your friends, and even yourself. It’s about living on your own terms—not living for the weekend or constantly checking work emails at red lights.

Professional fulfillment is loving what you do enough that Monday doesn’t feel like a burden. It’s knowing your work makes a real impact.

Success isn’t just about competition, income, or status—it’s about building a life you don’t need to escape from and being the best version of yourself. If I’m not striving to provide the best chiropractic care possible in Tampa, then I know I’m not working hard enough.
