Angellina Lucciola shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Angellina, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Who are you learning from right now?
In this industry, you have to be open to constantly learning and growing as a wedding planner. Trends, Social Media and AI have really taken our profession to the next level and it can be tough to navigate! If you are not on top of this, your business will suffer. Having planned around 800 weddings, I still learn something new from every single one! My coordinators stay on top of me doing ridiculous TIK TOK trends and staying “relevant” on social media. As much as I cannot stand putting myself out there and on line, it really does work. And I will admit, some of them are kind of fun!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Angellina Lucciola, but most people in the wedding world know me as Angie . I own 42 Lights, an all-inclusive wedding planning, coordinating, and rental company based in the Tampa Bay area. I also own Destination Wed, which focuses on planning and travel assistance with destination weddings in Italy and various places in Europe and the Caribbean.
What makes my brand unique is that I combine over 20 years of wedding industry experience with a very personal approach—I don’t just plan weddings, I build friendships. My team and I are passionate about creating stress-free celebrations that reflect each couple’s style, whether it’s and elegant affair, a rustic vibe, a beach wedding Florida, a Tuscan castle or a seaside ceremony in Sicily.
I think it is important to acknowledge that pricing is all over the board when searching for planners. I pride myself in offering exceptional service at budget friendly rates without sacrificing quality. With my company, couples truly get more for their investment. We don’t just plan—we go above and beyond, offering services, details, and care that go far beyond what your average planner provides. We also love collaborating with other planners who have the same values!
I am beyond grateful for the team that we have created here at 42 Lights. Jess, Brooke, Felicia, Tina, Hannah, Tessa and Vic! . I could not do this without them. Every single one of them are just as passionate as I am. I love them all so much!
Right now, I’m especially excited about collaborating with more venues in our area, expanding our destination wedding services and incorporating my extensive decor inventory to offer along with our planning and coordination services.
My story is also deeply personal—as a breast cancer survivor, I’ve learned to live with gratitude and purpose, and I bring that perspective into every event I design. I enjoy living in the moment and feeling the joy that my couples feel on their big day. I also look forward to using my company to give back and collaborate with other companies and organizations who share the same passion. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, we are working on gifting a free ceremony , decor package or rental to a fighter, thriver or survivor in the area. So, if you know someone , please send them my way 🙂
At the heart of it all, I believe weddings should be joyful, meaningful, and unforgettable—and I’m honored to help couples bring that vision to life. 💕
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My love for weddings started long before I ever made it a career. Growing up, my mom worked in the wedding/hospitality industry, and she always had us kids right there helping with everything—from décor to flowers to catering. She had the most positive spirit and genuine kindness, and people were naturally drawn to her. Watching her taught me not just the details of the industry, but also how to treat people with love, patience, and grace. She is now part of MY team, which is pretty cool.
Now as a mom myself, I hope to have that same impact on my daughter, Lillianna. She inspires me every single day to be my best self. Just like my mother shaped me, I know she continues to shape who I am—and I want her to see through my journey that hard work, heart, and kindness can truly create something special.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could tell my younger self anything, it would be this: know your worth. Never settle for less than amazing—in your career, your relationships, your friendships, or any area of life. The moment you truly love and honor yourself, you unlock the ability to live at your highest capacity and create the life you deserve. Learn the power of now, be still and live in the moment. Worrying is pointless and that you truly do have the power to create your own destiny! Oh, and never turn down an adventure! Travel everywhere! I have to add YOLO in there 🙂
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that my daughter Lillianna, husband Alan, family, and friends matter most to me.
Also, Integrity is everything to me. I don’t believe in half-doing anything—whatever I commit to, I give it my all. It matters deeply to me that the people around me feel loved, appreciated, and truly taken care of. I love hard, I work hard, and I want my family, friends, team, and couples to always feel that they matter and that they are a priority.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I can honestly say I was born to do this. What I do now isn’t just my full-time job—it’s my dream job, and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I’ve worked hard throughout my life to get here, and I’m a firm believer that we create our own reality—I did just that. I also have to give credit where it’s due: my former business partner, Loe, who helped start 42 Lights with me. She’s still one of my dearest friends, and I’ll always be grateful not only for her role in the business but also for her never-ending support and friendship throughout my life. We built such an amazing business and friendship together, but also managed to share some really incredible memories.
