Today we’d like to introduce you to Jada Perez.
Hi Jada, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story starts back in 2021 when I began posting photos I’d take in my bedroom. As a beginner model, I wasn’t so sure how to get myself out there so I started setting up photo-shoots with whatever resources I had available. I’d set up backdrops or themed shoots. I would also have my friends take photos of my fashionable outfits as content to post on my instagram. Taking those small steps allowed me to gain some exposure in the modeling scene of Tampa. Photographers would reach out for collaborations which allowed me to get professional photos for my portfolio. I now continue to do photo-shoots with professional photographers and I am more confidently involved in modeling.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been a smooth road on this modeling journey. I’ve dealt with insecurities, projects gone wrong and lack of resources. There’s high expectations as a model that sometimes make it hard to succeed with the little resources I’ve had at times. There have also been struggles in balancing life, work and modeling, there is just simply not enough time in the day! Nonetheless, I prevail and still reach the goals I’ve made for myself.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As of right now, modeling is a creative outlet for myself. My main source of work is being a barista at Nordstrom and a sales associate at Vans. I am proud of all my work whether it is my hobbies or everyday job. However, being able to balance all three is definitely what I’m most proud of. The work ethic I gain from managing my life in such way is what sets me apart from others. I hold myself to a high standard with how I present myself in all aspects.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something surprising most people may not know about me is how long I’ve been modeling. Some people may see it as a short, or long time. I have been modeling for 4 years. Each year is completely different, and I gain new experience with each one.
