Hi Giovanna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey has been one of passion, persistence, and a vision for a brighter future. I began my career in education, dedicating 11 years to being a classroom teacher, where I cultivated a deep love for helping students grow. From there, I transitioned to becoming an instructional coach, guiding educators and playing a role in shaping school-wide success for 2.5 years. For the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a middle school assistant principal, a role that’s taught me invaluable lessons about leadership, resilience, and adaptability.
But my story doesn’t stop there. My husband and I had a dream—to build something of our own that would provide long-term financial freedom and security for our family. That’s how Snappy Soiree – Tampa Bay Photo Booth Rental was born. With my husband’s background in manufacturing and his recently completed MBA, we combined our strengths to create a business that not only brings joy to our clients but also reflects our aspirations. As a certified woman-owned and minority-owned business, we’re proud of how far we’ve come and are excited about the future.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has definitely had its challenges, but every obstacle has been a step toward building something lasting. Juggling a career in education and entrepreneurship has not been easy, but it’s a journey driven by purpose: securing our family’s future and building a legacy. Our family has faced financial setbacks, including the uncertainty the pandemic brought, a layoff, and a summer without a contract. On top of that, the rising inflation has hit the event industry hard, forcing us to adapt as clients’ budgets tightened.
What keeps us going is knowing that Snappy Soiree isn’t just a business—it’s a source of joy for others and a beacon of hope for our family. We’ve learned to adjust and innovate to keep offering our clients the best experience possible. Despite the challenges, including balancing our opposite schedules, this business gives us a chance to collaborate and create something meaningful together.
Every day, whether on campus or working at an event, I’m driven by the belief that with determination and a clear vision, success is always within reach. The sense of fulfillment from both roles is what keeps me inspired to keep moving forward.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
The COVID-19 crisis taught me some of the most valuable lessons in both my career and personal life. At the time, Snappy Soiree was just a dream, but I was still deeply rooted in my role as an educator. When the pandemic hit, I had to quickly adapt to online teaching, a completely new environment for many of us. It was challenging, but it pushed me to grow, learn new technology skills, and find innovative ways to connect with my students.
The crisis reminded me of two essential lessons: adaptability and resilience. I realized that growth often comes from discomfort, and that’s a lesson I carried with me when we launched Snappy Soiree. The ability to pivot, innovate, and stay determined in the face of uncertainty has been key to our success.
Through that experience, I learned that even in the most difficult times, there’s always room for growth and new opportunities. That mindset has shaped both my role in education and as an entrepreneur, giving me the strength and vision to push forward, no matter the challenge.
